No smack talk for CMP? Come on...

#61

Since we’ve got some new folks, here’s a primer on the field. Feel free to add your own smack talk.

Personally, I think Jones and Tower should receive awards for “Least Likely and Most Likely to Pass the 50/50 Rule”.

Are we going to paddock near the new false grid or ignore Pantas and group together back by the old false grid (near the kart track)?

PS - We’re done at +/-2:35 on Saturday. Anybody want to do some karting in the afternoon? Looks like it is $45 for track rental and $20 for every 10 minutes in the kart.

#63

I hate you all.

Not only have I not see my racecar in over a month… I haven’t even driven a car since 2009.

y’all have fun and PLEASE post updates here or on facebook.

I’ll be there with my kart, I think. They will have two tracks set up; one for you chumps on the concession karts and another for the real stuff. I believe concession karts are $20/run. The $45 is an all-day fee for open track with your own kart.

Let me rephrase: Any mere mortals want to do some karting in the afternoon?

Like I need to get my arse kicked by dot com in yet another type of vehicle…

Seriously, your shifter kart videos had me shopping for a kart. :woohoo: Then I remembered I am broke.

We’re up to 10 rows!

Pantas is registered with the panther…

#67

Steve D - you bringing that stuff for me from the quitter? I mean Robinson?

PS: Jones you still have 4 days to back out and avoid embarrassment.

#68

Personally I think my nickname should be “DeathTrap” given that I’m driving Travis’ old #800.

#69

Too bad he didn’t leave the “stock motor” in it.

Ummmm. First I’ve heard about it. But I wondered why he wanted to have lunch Thursday.

I’m bringing a rather small car to CMP so I don’t really have much room. PM me with the list of stuff you are buying and I will see if I can fit it in. My backup cars aren’t in great shape right now.

If Robinson cuts me a good enough deal on my parts, I’ll throw the roof box on the car and put your stuff in there.

Maybe I’m confused and Patton is bringing it. I don’t know any of you yet so I’m just all around confused.

Does Patton live near you guys?

#72

Patton is the delivery guy. Steve D’s rates are too high.

We’re all in metro Atlanta. Heavy on the “metro” for Robinson.

Who lives closest to Piedmont park, and drives a miata?

Not strong evidence to the contrary.

#75

Before December I had my doubts that your “wife” even exists. Other evidence against you? The dogs, just a little too much product in the hair…

On second thought, there’s no way that was your “wife” at Road Atlanta. No real wife would withstand sitting around the track all day freezing just to attend a trophy ceremony.

PS - The pickup truck is just compensating for something, isn’t it.

#76

You didn’t stick around to hear her complain. Then you’d know she was real. Or I was going to be paying extra.

Come on big D! What kind of attitude is that? Fix that thing and get back out here - Rigby’s been asking about you.:stuck_out_tongue:

We should make a collective decision about the paddock map. http://www.nasa-se.com/i/paddocks/cmppaddock.jpg

The map puts us on the opposite side of the paddock again. I don’t care where we park, but I don’t want to be almost the only SOB parked where we are supposed to be. At the last event this was a goatscrew because by the time most of us arrived, non-SpecE30’s had taken up all of our parking. So most guys parked in our historic location and that meant that me and a couple others were far away from the rest of our SpecE30 family.

So lets make something happen. Either we find a way to make Jim’s new plan work, or we ask Jim to put us back where we were. The third option, and it’s my least favorite, is to ignore Jim’s plan and park where we were. It’s his show and it’s uncool of us to ignore his plan.

But for Jim’s way to work, there needs to be a means to prevent non-SpecE30’s from parking in our area. That idea is, on the NASA forums, usually the subject of hoots of derision.

I don’t have an easy solution. But if we decide that we are going to park per Jim’s new plan, I’m perfectly willing to badger every non-SpecE30 in that location until they exit. I’ve months of pent up aggravation in me just looking to be exercised. I’m practically SEETHING with, ah, enthusiasm.

I’m a sensitive guy and I want to be among my family. And if clearing out some interlopers requires ripping someone’s head off and shitting in their neck, that’s ok.

#79

i was going to park where the map says, is there some reason not to?

Unless we aggressively stake claim to that location, it will be full by Friday mid-afternoon. And it won’t be SpecE30’s that are filling it.

I’m leaning towards parking in the old location by the kart track. If my only choices are ignoring Jim’s plan or playing the role of whackjob parking nazi to help make Jim’s plan succeed, I’ll take the choice that annoys the fewest folks.
