New to spec e30 mid atlantic

#1

Hi everyone this is my introduction thread

My cousin and I recently purchased a 1989 325i and we are preparing it for spec e30 competition. I have been doing auto cross for the last two years and plan to start doing HPDE next summer. With a little luck my car will be filling your review mirrors as soon as I get the funds together.

Thanks for all the great advice so far and I look forward to seeing you guys at the track.

Nice! You guys might have the highest mileage race car in the country when you’re done!

Haha yeah it has more than a few miles on it…. We bought the car from one of my friends for $500. I don’t know if you can tell from the pics but it is an extremely clean car, hardly a dent on it. It’s a real testament to how well engineered these cars are. By the time it hits the track most the parts will be new, so no worries.

Do we know you?

We have a pair of SE30 cars…one is in Wrightsville, the other in Elizabethtown. We’ve run them at most of the autocrosses this year. Still a small budget away from racing (car isn’t the only expense!) I’ve talked to several others who are building cars and not sure if we have met. If you need any local help, let us know.

Yes… i ran 5 auto-x with you guys this year i think… i used to drive the red 1995 v-6 mustang. You guys are one of the reasons i decided to get into the spec e30 scene. I am skipping the last part of the season to save more money for the new car. But we will be shaking down the car at auto x next season so i will see you guys then

Nice to know we are good for something other than looking good. :silly:
Now if I could only get this thing in an actual race…
