To help pay some of the expenses of Spec E30, we’re considering a small annual membership fee. I’ve pretty-much financed this thing myself but our expenses are growing.

Plus, we’ll probably form an LLC (I like keeping my house) to protect us from any potential legal action.

What do you guys think is appropriate? Would $15.00 per year per driver be reasonable?

We are also close to making an announcement that will improve the racing experience for our Mid Atlantic drivers, at no cost to them.

Forming the LLC isn’t cheap, but isn’t ridiculously expensive either, thus the small membership fee.

I was hoping there would be some interest in the Spec E30 gear on the site (hats, t-shirts, etc.) to raise funds but that hasn’t happened.

We are also thinking about presenting a small car decal to the drivers who have achieved certain levels of success in Spec E30, to be placed by the driver’s name on the racecar. Something like "Champion" for Regional Championship winners, and "Master" for drivers with 10 or more wins, etc. Any thoughts?

$15 sounds fine to me. How about stickers for rookie of the year?

Hey you hold a "Hunky-Racer Man Auction"… I know I can recruit some women to bid on racer men. You hold the auction… I gather woman… you can raise funds… have cold bears, of course men must show up in racing garments, and hey, dude, you can have the Hunky-racer take a women on the track… if they can handle the heat. …

Make it $20 and include an annual patch or sticker.

I’ll be more than happy to volunteer my design services and resources.

Just don’t be surprised if it has a little BeerTech flav-a

What expenses will the membership fee help to cover and why will the new anouncment only enhance the mid-atlantic region racing in Spec e30?

Im in for $15-$20 (with a patch would be nice)

An annual fee works for me. Do we know any lawyers that could draw up that LLC on the cheap?

oooh $15… I don’t know…could really blow my annual racing budget… o what the heck… I’ll just run the toyo’s an extra weekend… count me in.

I do like the patch idea as well.

I’m in for whatever the series membership is, this is a great group and I’m happy to do whatever it takes to keep it growing.

On patches, I took a shot (admitedly very poor workmanship) at modifying Brian #7 to remove the passenger seat, put a diagonal bar in and try to make the driver seat look more like a racing shell. Sent it out for some quotes and will update the information in the Patch Poll thread as it comes in. I would be happy to try and handle procuring these as part of the membership Carter - just let me know.

Already looking forward to March!

$15 is a bargain. I’m good with it. Patch and sticker would be a plus, happy to pay extra for that. Thanks Carter!

Carter,

$15-20 sounds Fine.

My dad has created quite a few LLC’s at www.incorporatetime.com
Phone: 1-800-its-time
The cost is something in the $300 range.

A lawyer will probably cost a couple of thousand.

Thanks Greg.

Mike and I are discussing the options.

I’m happy with the $15 - $20 membership fee. A patch and / or sticker would be nice and I wouldn’t mind paying extra for that as well.
I’m relatively new to this forum but what happened to the hats, t-shirts, & ect? I would certainly be inetrested. I was surprised as a matter of fact, that I couldn’t find anything like that here.

No prob here.

Suggestions:
My local Stang club charges $30 per year and it includes a sticker and a T-Shirt. I did the Stickers for the Club at $2 each and the shirts were done for roughly $7.50 each. Essentialy there is $20.50 from each membership that goes to site fees and other expenses. We also sell shirts/stickers in addition to the membership ones for extra $$.

I would love to help organize or help get some of this going. At least help out with stickers.

Rich.
