Watched on speed cast. Most coverage was on the SPEC944s.Grace was in p3 going into the last lap. What happened? After the first couple of laps Frans pulled away in his rental. Chris appeared down on power. Grace got a bad start & took 30 min. to catch Chris & passed him in the front straight with about 3 laps to go.then I don’t know.great showing for the MA guys.
Congratulations to Frans!
Experience shows,way to go Chris!
Go Grace…I know you will get them next time!
CONGRADULATIONS TO FRANS…Watched it also on Speedcasttv.com
Frans you did a great job gettin by and putting those 944’s between you and p2&P3… wow, what was ever in that car we need to put into the Drive Gear cars!!..get working on it Andrew…
see you at VIR, Champ!!!
Grace broke a tie rod on the last lap and Ferrario found the wall after getting together with Edwards.

Congrats Frans! I believe this is his first year racing anything bigger than a kart. Pretty good start! For those who haven’t had the pleasure of racing him (he whipped up on me at NJMP), he is as nice as he is fast!
Cobetto - Congrats on your 4th or 5th Nationals podium in a row. Makes me want to go to Mid Ohio in 2011 just to watch the rematch!
Sorry to hear about Grace and Ferrario’s troubles.
I look forward to meeting all the guys I don’t know at Mid Ohio! C’mon, California types! Ask Santa for some transport $ this year.:woohoo:
Congratulations to Frans, Gary, and Chris, from Spec E30! And many thanks to all the other drivers who made the trip to Utah this year.
We know it was quite an effort and we appreciate everyone participating, and representing our series at the National Championship. You did us proud.
Carter Hunt
Spec E30 National Series Director
Been back from Nats for a week now and just got the car from Pantas.
What a great experience!!!
First a huge Congrats to Mr. Hansen!!! He drove a great race and really was dedicated to getting faster every session. Tim gave him a great car and Frans put the car everywhere it needed to be including first across the finish line. Of course it must be all that excellent NASA MA training!!!
Gary was great fun to watch and, unfortunately for me, I saw alot of his rear bumper.
It was great to meet the guys from the west coast. Those guys would all fit in great here on the east coast. I truly hope we get a good showing next year at Mid Ohio from both sides of the Mississippi because while the racing will be great, the party will be EPIC.
It needs to be said that Robert Grace did a stellar job of making his way up through the pack. I saw him coming…and coming…and coming and then going and going and then…going off the track. I knew going out there that I only have 142hp against most that would be in the 155-160 range and I hoped that I’d podium. I had relegated myself to the fact that I’d get a fourth right before Robert went off. It was a difficult moment for me because as competitive as I am I have to say that there was something in me that was a little disappointed because, while I sat there in fourth, the thought of two MA guys taking 1-3 was a proud one for me…
…but…
…I’ll take the third.
The week was not without issue for me. Broke a tranny on wednesday. A huge thanks to Steve Ferrario for coughing up his backup transmission and a REALLY huge thanks to Robert Grace’s dad, Seth for his invaluable help in getting the tranny swapped.
Carter deserved a huge amount of thanks. This class is a blast and the competition is stellar.
I’m looking forward to Mid Ohio next year!!!
Congrats again to Frans!!!
Now. Where DID I put Stickley’s number…?
With the Nationals in the rearview mirrior, we would be remiss if we didn’t recognize the accomplishment of a fellow Spec E30 racer, Scott McKay , who won the National Championship in his Factory Five car.
Congratulations, also, to Scott for his win at Miller!
And to our guys…some really fast company. Congratulations to all that participated and thanks for your race reports. For those of us unable to attend it is fun to be able to see the race through your windshield.
Regards, Robert Patton

just found the time to watch it. congrats to all that finished. better luck next time to those that broke. I think maybe toyo needs to give speedcast a little more so that they can afford a video editor. I would have liked to see that standing start or anything going on on the track the same time the commentators were talking about it.
