I received a mass-email from Mark Barr (GTS Challenge National Coordinator) encouraging signing up early for the GTS races at Mid-Ohio. I’m hoping / planning to run in both the Spec races and the GTS races, but am wondering if anyone knows whether it is definite that the two won’t be running together? I would assume not, since GTS is hoping to draw a field large field, but I thought I’d ask here to see if anyone knows this.
Anyone / everyone else planning on doing the same?

I haven’t heard anything about the GTS field.
In speaking with the DC area Spec E30’ers, we’re looking at making the trip in July and August. I think we’ll have at least 5 Spec E30 cars at all the Mid-Ohio events (except April 21-23), with hopes of getting 10+ cars there for at least one event before Nationals (which might draw as many as 20 cars).
I hope you’ll plan to run Spec E30 - the racing certainly is unbeatable. It would be great to combine the field with GTS too - they’re fun to run with.

Vic - sorry, I wasn’t too clear. I was only talking about the Nationals event in September. I definitely plan to run with the spec cars, but since I’ll be traveling 2.5k miles I’d like to max my racing time while there.
Gotcha - I hadn’t thought about running BOTH. I don’t think my racind budget will allow … but you’ve got me thinking

If we can get enough cars, and the national event being just that (and a few days long) I’m hoping they will give us our own Spec E30 race.
If they do, you can certainly do both.
