NASA-SE: June Jam, June 18-20, Road Atlanta

#1

NASA-SE proudly presents the annual June Jam! at Road Atlanta in Winder, GA on June 18-20, 2010. This will be a fun filled event that promises to exceed all previous levels of NASA-SE quality events. We will have our normal schedule starting on Friday and continuing through out the weekend. This event includes:

High Performance Driver’s Education (HPDE) - drivers of all makes and models of cars can sign up and begin at the novice level (HPDE 1) and work their way to advanced driving skills. All drivers start with classroom instruction as well as an in-car instructor to guide you to drive your car at the limits. All of this takes place with the safety of a racetrack under controlled conditions.

Time Trials (TT) - Drivers will compete for their fastest lap times and win all types of contingency money and prizes. The beauty of TT is the fact that you can do all of this with only your street car and a helmet!

Sprint Races - All of the standard NASA classes will be participating, 944Spec, SpecBoxter, American Iron(AI), Factory Five Racing (FFR), German Touring Series (GTS), Honda Challenge(HC), Performance Touring(PT), SpecE30, SpecMiata, Super Unlimited(SU), Super Touring(ST), etc. Cars will be split up into groups and the racing will be intense to watch and participate in!

3 Hr Endurance Race - All of the standard NASA Enduro classes will be participating. Cars will be split up into groups and the racing will be intense to watch and participate in!

Won’t be making this one. Cage goes in next month. Looking forward to Road Atlanta in August though.

#3

Pink Panties, are you running the Panther at RA?

#4

Caitlin is running the Panther in DE - I’ll be in the Camaro…

#5

I just registered for the sprints, the website would not let me register for the enduro. Check your e-mail for more detail.

#6

PS that Camaro should run with LeMons, if at all. That’s salvage yard material.

Thought about running it in Lemons originally but it was too nice, has become a decent Enduro and CMC2 car!

And the real story is that Jim tried to run it in LeMons, but even the they have some pride…

#9

Sexual references to Jim’s daughter and ragging on two of his race cars all in the same thread. We get a sudden case of hostile?

#10

Pantas used to call himself “Pink Pantas” when I first met him. The reference to “Pink Panties” was just a change of the last name, not designed to discuss his daughter in any way. I don’t roll like that.

#11

Looks like 17 cars signed up as of now, should be a good weekend (depending on the whole 60% chance of rain).

#12

Am I right in that we are only using the main paddock area and not the secondary paddock across the track? Won’t that be pretty crowded if we have a full field?

Sure like having the space like February.

#13

Yes we are and yes it will be crowded! I think Jim said the inside paddock was not available (they sometimes use it for other activities)

Anyway, a couple of years ago in a similar situation at RA, most everyone with an open trailer stashed them elsewhere and the SpecE30 crowd was a shining display of creating a tightly packed ‘series village’ – might be time to recreate the magic.

That is correct, we will be using the outside paddock and we’ll all be practicing “Love Thy Neighbor” - it makes it cozy and fun!

Jim -

Can we use the grass below the skidpad to park open trailers? I like having mine down there rather than easily accessible along the Paddock Grill building. Looking forward to it!!

Yes, any grassy area is fair game for trailer parking - most folks will park open trailers in the entrance way or down off the lower paddock near T-1.

#17

Jim, any suggestions on where to park our RV in the SE30 area so that we can maximize the space for everyone?

You have air conditioning! Park where you can get power and we’ll work around your placement in exchange for being able to cool off.

That’s it? I was thinking beer, grid positions, bump drafts, or things of that sort in exchange from a highly desired commodity such as air conditioning.

If you want bump drafts, I am your man. My bumper is toast from New Jersey. Just to clarify, you want that bump at the apex of T1, right?
