 You got me. I forgot to add that to my list of excuses a couple pages ago.

On a serious note, y’all huddle up in the PalacioPalalace and soak up that a/c. It is gonna be brutal at best and dangerous at worst. Stay hydrated. Keep your car covered between sessions.

I want you guys mentally sharp so you can put on a good show for us.:woohoo:

I’m going to roll in around 9-10PM. I’ll be looking for folks to share my ice cold beer with.

The first folks in the paddock need to reach down their shorts, make an adjustment, and summon the courage to take on the role of SpecE30 paddock parking police. Last time at RA we were scattered all over heck and we weren’t able to put together a SpecE30 social center. We ended up clustered in our own little groups which is a helova lot less fun. So you guys that get there first…it’s on you. Man up and take charge.

Who ever takes on this role needs to let me know, so I can be sure to NOT shake your hand.

Thanks.

I just told Alena that we are going to drive up to watch one of these races this weekend…hopefully I will see you there, Steve!

Shelby, Daisy and I are going to be in town and may try to catch the Sunday race…

Y’all have a fun and safe weekend. Look out for those wacky-attacky miata’s

I plan to roll in around 6pm. I hope the rush to get in will be over by then.

#47

I’ll bring some SpecE30 patches and steering box plugs to RA in case anyone wants them.

#48

I won’t make it this weekend. I tried to call the registrar number about cancelling and got the wildhorsesracing answering machine. Please tell me I can get a refund. I need the money or I’ll be walking to work untill payday.

My ac compressor pulley on my truck has completely locked up and the correct belt to bypass it doesn’t exist. If Road Atlanta wasn’t a 7 hour drive or I didn’t have to work on monday I might take the chance.

#49

That’s good since last time when I did want them you didn’t bring them, haha. I will take one set of each. Oh yeah I think I was told that Monday before the event was the last chance to cancel or change your registration for the event. Hopefully that isn’t the rule and they can make an exception. So I’m at the hotel after dropping my car and trailer off and getting teched. I was surprised how packed the place was already. I was just happy to find a little spot to park where at least I can see Levie’s car. I was supposed to be doing an HPDE2 check ride, but I was assigned an instructor instead. He drives a red HPDE4 E30, so hopefully he can teach me a thing or two on Saturday so I can run solo on Sunday.

If he has an m50 then its the same instructor I had last time. Don’t know if you’ve been to road atlanta before but he will tell you not to track out more than half way on corner one, which kills about 5mph or more if you listen. Remember if it seems under control you are not going fast enough.

#51

It isn’t my first time at Road Atlanta, I was there earlier this year and I was tracking out on turn 1. I’m definitely going to work on turn 1 entry speed and deeper braking at the end of the back straight. I saw Greg was asigned a 350Z driver as his student. I’m still hoping he can ride with me for a session and some pointers.

Unless you’re strapping into the passenger seat with a stranger, leave the advice to the guy who is putting his butt on the line please.

That’s true in racing… but not in HPDE. HPDE is not racing.

+1. Stupidest. HPDE. Advice. Ever.

That’s funny because my instructor today actually told me to slow down because I was getting too close to the edge. So the next session I worked on being smoother and not carrying as much corner entry speed. It was a great day. I wish I got to see the Lightning race though. Hopefully we can get race reports soon. I know Ranger started 6th and finished 6th which I thought was awesome. It must be that 100 psi of oil pressure and newly found straightaway talent thanks to the time on the dyno.

Gee, I think you just dissed all lawyers, doctors, and an loosely-defined group of racers who don’t meet your standard of excellence or commitment. Hard to tell, actually, what your point really is until one reads to the last line.

Have you seen this clip? See any relevance?

Just wanted to close out this thread by saying I had a great weekend. The only issue I had was more fuel starvation this time it was worst right before turn 1 which seemed very strange as it never bobbled coming out of 7 like it did earlier this year. Thanks to Greg for being brave enough to ride along with me and give me some great advice.
