NASA-SE Goes to VIR

#61

Bummer on the Patton’s…Maybe they’ll change their minds (I’m working on him)

However, is there any interest from the other SE people making the trip in doing the Friday night Kart enduro? It was in the info email that NASA-MA sent out today, but basically the cost is $140 for the team (regardless of # drivers) for a 2-hour race. This is at VIR.

I think it’s from 6:30 to 8:30. Saturday is already sold out but Friday still had spots.

My son, Kelly and I make 3, so another driver or two will lower the per-head cost and add to the fun. What say you guys?

I can register/pay and we can settle up later. Reply back here w/interest.

Also, note the dress requirements: Helmets, long pants, closed-toe shoes, and long sleeves are required for all drivers. Gloves are strongly recommended.

Who pays when the MA guys wreck the kart? Or is there insurance?

haha:laugh:

Have fun I love VIR.

I’m definitely interested if there’s still a seat available!

p.s. Kelly: my wife just confirmed that I snore (“like a freight train”

Fred, you’re more than interested, you’re committed! So is Kelly.

I just plunked down $140 on my Visa, so the team so far is Jay/Chuck Taylor, Kelly Childress, and Fred “Freight Train” Switzer. I’m guessing (though I don’t really know) that we could handle one more team member if anybody else wants to jump in.

This is for Friday night, be there at 6:00 for meeting and prep.

Blind Squirrel Racing rides again!

Karting sounds like fun guys… this is only going to be my second time on track so I’ll have to join you another time

Cool! :woohoo:

Robert, sorry to hear that you and Laura won’t be coming to VIR. :frowning:

Keri, does this mean you’re bringing the E30?!?

It does! I have to replace both clutch cylinders this week (lost my clutch driving down 93 the other day), but as long as she decides to take a break from falling apart, we’ll be driving at VIR :cheer:

#68

Shouldn’t that be Fred “Phreight Train Pshrink” Switzer?

#69

I’ve been trying to put my own team together for the friday night karting, but not sure if that comes together, so reserve me a spot if possible!

It is sad that Pattons won’t make it, but 4-5 people from the SE will still be fun. I love VIR, so really looking forward to it, except the typical heat accompanying the event.

I will be there, but will be too hammered to race carts…Running Friday in the UTCC…in my biodiesel. Saturday and Sunday I will be spectating/hanging out at the pool. Also will be playing billyards upstaires both nights, loser buys beer.

Now, that is the Al I know!

Kelly, I called and spoke to VIR, but I’m #23 on the waitlist, which makes me think I should look for some other arrangements. Thinking the sleep inn down the street.

Are the RV’sa booked??VIR has some RV’s for rent sleep 3 comfortably $100 a night. I would offer my place but no running water…actaully I do have a hose hooked directly to the well, but not the best situation…
