John
I hear he’s pretty generous with the split…60/40 Al.

By the way, need to update your Sig fella. It’s out of date.
I think your bigger worry would be what Al might do on and in your car without adult supervision.

I REALLY want to try VIR. I’m (tentatively) in.

#23

I looks like I will have to add this one to the list if I get to see the Patton Family

Only though… in small (once a year) doses… :silly:

Steve, sounds great.

Now for some stratergerie…we get Vic to come down to race, too. While he has everyone up-in-arms, we sneak SE driver Fred Switzer over the finish line for his first victory.

Me, “I was seventh.”

#25

Hey, Tom and I will likely see you guys then!

We’d love to see our old SE friends again!

jeff

Ranger, bring your sorry butt up here!

I LOVE this plan! :woohoo:

I was planning on doing a DE that weekend up there, and I’ll likely still be in my Mazda as opposed to a BMW, but would you guys mind if I hung around?

#28

God willing and the creeks don’t rise… I’m in for this!

#29

I’m in, hopefully I will have my pipes fixed up there by then…

Laura, this is a very appealing idea. What’s your estimate of the driving time, with trailer from ATL? I was up there once a few years ago, but I drove reeeel fast in a 350Z. VIR is beautiful like Barber and a gas like RA (without the concrete). Put me down as a maybe.

From Downtown ATL to the the front gates of VIR… it will be around 375 miles. Mostly straight up 85. You can haul ass through GA and NC but need to take it easy (10-15 over) through SC. It’ll be a nice drive  but worth it… VIR is a ton of fun.

VIR is 45 minutes from my house and I’ve made the tow to RA several times. It’s not so bad

#32

At speed limit, it’s 5 1/2 - 6 hour drive. It should be faster but I always run into a traffic jam at Charlotte (especially I-485 merge point).

#33

Definitely try not to hit Charlotte at rush hour. It’s not as bad as ATL, but leaving the north side where it goes to two lanes gets pretty frustrating because it’s a Polish roadblock for miles. Probably a 6 hour tow for most assuming a stop or two.

#34

Figure 6:30, door to door, non-stop with trailer.

Skeen-daddy, are you going to race this one with us?

RP

#35

Good to hear that so many SE folks are coming up this way - Jeff and I miss hangin’ with y’all. Lets put together at least one SE team for the Kart Enduro… I got dibs on Skeen!

#36

Registration for VIR opened today, anyone else signed up yet?

#37

OK gang, the July 25/26 VIR event is less than 6 weeks away, so who’s in?

I haven’t signed up yet, but I’m going (as is my son sharing my car in HPDE1)

Lots of interest in looking back over this list, but come back and add to the list here so we know who to expect:

(Also, if anyone has a set of E30 street tires/rims suitable for my son to use in HPDE1 that I can rent/borrow, please contact me offline. I’d rather him not be running on Toyos if I can avoid it.)

 1. Kelly Childress
 2. me

#38

I’m registered. :woohoo:

#39

I’m coming up. Haven’t signed up to spread my entry fee expenses, but Deb is instructing up there and it’s too close not to go.

Chuck, I have some wheels with Fuzion ZRIs on them that I used to use for rain sessions. I’m sure your son can use those. Maybe we can work out some type of exchange!

Alex.

Initially I thought this was a neat idea and intended to attend. But things change and it is an 11 hour tow from Huntsville.

Now I may have to come… So I can beat Fred, again!
