Mid South Announcement

I’ll probably try to make it to some of these tracks/events once it gets rolling.

Is there any chance that we’ll get some decent SpecE30 representation?

Matt

WTF? That came out of the blue.

Awesome! I’m glad Shawn and Mike got this going! According to the release, the new region will serve the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee and will include track weekends at Little Talladega, Barber Motorsports Park, Memphis Motorsports Park, Nashville Super Speedway, NOLA Motorsports Park and Circuit Grand Bayou as the region grows.

Count me in for Barber, Memphis, and Nashville…

Info from Regional Director:

Our first event will be a DE only with an Instructor class at Talladega Grand Prix Raceway April 2-3. Our first races look like they will be at Memphis Motorsports Park sometime this summer. Working with them on dates. So far, looks like our first Nashville event will be in October. Still talking to other tracks. Our main problem is that we received approval so late in the year, good dates are few and far between.

w00t. This is great news. I will plan to run DE at Talladega in April. Mid South should now be my home region.

Someone please explain to me how this does not screw Jim and Julie!!! Chuck

Chuck, from what Shawn and Mike told me, Jim and Julie actually helped get this region going. I believe they intend collaborate and not try to compete for the same racers on the same weekends. I think it’s great that we may have some more venues and a little less commuting for some.

TN is close for me so I’m excited to get up there and learn some new tracks.

I ran a lemons race at the N.O. track back in November, it is a very technical track, but I loved it.

Two words, Chuck. Ala Bama.

Jes kiddin’. There are many great things that come out of Alabama. I-20, for instance.

And the reason all the trees in Alabama lean toward Georgia? Georgia SUCKS:laugh:

Not to mention football, Alabama National Champs last year (13 total) and Heisman, Auburn Heisman this year and we’ll see about the National Champ trophy tonight. Must really give you a warm fuzzy feeling about living in Georgia. CB

I am REALLY looking forward to this!! I live in Birmingham and it is next to impossable for me to race anywhere but Road Atlanta on the current NASA SE schedule due to time and travel cost. So Barber is a not brainer for me, Little Talladega as well. Nashville I have several free places to stay and the wife will actually travel with me up there. Memphis and LA are also not a difficult or evpensive hall for me as well. This will allow someone like me to do more races and do more tracks. For me this is AWESOME.
