NASA MA at VIR

#1

It is never too earily to start a list of participants for an upcomming event. The NASA MA event at VIR is set for 7/29-30. Who will be attending? I’m going to try to make the trip up from Atlanta. Others?

Haven’t signed up yet (have three track debits on the card), but who can miss VIR?

I will sign up after my card clears this month.

Sean, thanks for posting the list. Unfortunately I’m not going to be able to make the trip to VIR. Yet again, business gets in the way of fun. Sorry, Robert Patton

Assuming I get my provisional comp license on Friday I plan on racing on Saturday. Maybe theres a better way to describe what I’ll be doing on Saturday… I’ll be on the track while everyone else races while trying not to get in anyones way.

Don’t forget to add Chris Cobetto to the list.

We also have one additional car that might be there. Skip Bennett from Anapolis MD is trying to get there. He bought Dave Palister’s car and had a great weekend at Summit this past weekend.

'Any other NASA Southeast guys coming?

Thanks, Sean. By the way, your posts to the group are always helpful and your knowledge of the e30 is thorough. Thanks for the great support. When do you hit the track with a race car? Regards, Robert ( slower in the Southeast region) Patton

Thanks Robert,
I have the car…We had a baby in Jan. so my original plan of getting licensed this year are out the window…cage $$$ went to the co-insurance LOL…
I plan on getting back on the track for the last few events this year and hopefully will be licensed by the end of next year. Being registrar puts a dent in the on track time at our events

I will be there, but as an instructor… I still have a lot stuff to do to my car to even think of putting it up to the beatings that I will get from you guys, there’s always next year

Keefe:

Come hang out with us in the Spec E30 corral. All E30’s (especially future Spec E30’s) are welcome.

And I’ll be instructing at the Comp School Friday so I’ll rope-off an area for us after looking at the NASA paddock map. VIR has a much bigger paddock so space shouldn’t be a problem.

So far, we have about 12 cars but I’m hoping we have more.

Update: I’ll be there… if I receive four wheels on Friday. :pinch:

Right now, I have 8 new RA-1s and 0 wheels – Team Dynamics dragged their feet in shipping some of the 8 PR 1.2s I’ve ordered (the first order was placed by Bimmerworld in March) and they’re due to arrive on Friday. (The other four or five are apparently in invoice limbo.)

What has me worried is that the shipping weight, according to DHL is equal to three PR 1.2s, which if it rains, means I’m S-O-L. (In the dry, I can run on my worn-out 20+ cycle HPDE RA-1s – which at least gives me an excuse for sucking during my first weekend of real racing.)

It’s really gonna suck, if after wrangling the paint shop, decals, tires and some mechanical work, what shoots me down is a 4+ month backorder, a slow boat from the UK and a four day lag between printing the shipping label and handing the box to the DHL driver.

Update 2: Four TD 1.2’s arrived today, a day earlier than DHL anticipated. See y’all on Saturday morning. :woohoo:
