This race is at Mosport. I don’t know about you, but I really enjoy watching stock cars on road courses.
Great news! It’s refreshing to see talent rewarded with a paid drive
Good luck Mike!!! Go get 'em!

My response was somewhat tongue in cheek!
I love watching Mike navigate traffic on a roadcourse. Just isn’t the same in a circle.
I do enjoy NASCAR on roadcourses (last year’s final lap at the Glen has to go down as one of the best laps in racing history. I also enjoyed the trucks on the dirt last month!
I think its great that one of our own has gone so far. He’s earned it with his talent!
Sadly it doesn’t guarantee you still aren’t forking over bucks to appear… more prize money at stake though!
Brian, those that go a long way back with Mike know that he has found a good home and a great sponsor with the folks at Hawk. They have seen his skills in action. He will give the #6 car some TV exposure.
Come on folks, this racer is one of our own. This thread should be about 100 post long.
However, I do get it…forums of today are like yesterday’s chat room thingees. Maybe we should ### on his twinkler account, a sure way to get a reaction from the twits?
Mike, again, Good Luck.

I’m aware of his background and skills - my post wasn’t attacking either of those. The economics of (pro) racing are unfortunately upside down in the majority of cases. I’m pulling for him to succeed and I’ll definitely be watching to see how a “road course ringer” can beat up on the roundy-round regulars!
(and for someone to fix the CSS on his website so it loads right )

Got it, and I agree the economics of racing are different in most every case. Like you didn’t mean to imply, I didn’t either.
Go Mike!

That’s a hell of a stretch to think that hawk is sponsoring him completely. I’m going to guess that series could be bit less than a full nationwide car, so ballparking $25k for the one race. I know a nationwide car rents for around $75-80k for one race and that was 4 years ago.
Looks like he did manage to qualify 3’rd.
I’m pretty sure Mike doesn’t have the money to rent anything more than a rental car from the airport.
Well you don’t usually drive SE30 weekends for under $1,200 per, so unless someone is just letting him borrow the car for nothing all the time, he has money somewhere.
A great race for Mike until the last corner. I’m not exactly sure what happened to cause contact between Mike and Max, but Mike clearly showcased his talent and I hope to see him on TV much more often.
Max “Slapis.” He slapped Billy Johnson earlier this year and today got slapped nicely from an annoyed female. He took it like a man. I wish FOX had ran longer so we could have seen a Skeen interview.
