The car is all prepped and loaded for next weekend. This is a first as I’m normally scrambling the night prior… I switched from my super secret Road Atlanta setup to my closely held Mid Ohio setup. Never mind that I haven’t actually driven Mid Ohio before but I’m sure it’ll be crazy fast. Be scared cuz’ I’m bringin’ the whoooop a$$!!!

we’ll be a the Ritz Carlton Mansfield…at least that’s what I think they renamed the Travelodge off exit 169. $65/night

Any plans for Friday night? Other than Michael’s late night tech inspections?? Looking forward to cracking some cold ones with the e30 crowd…

Anyone besides me camping?

#85

I just finished my motor, and the car rolled through the shop under its own power. Is anyone pushing things as last minute as me?

#86

Shannon is coming so I won’t be camping this time.

I’ve taken the car cover off and moved my wife’s mini van out, thats it. Oh I did pump up 1 tire with my new air pressure do dad I got for xmas. I’ll start doing maintenance tomorrow night. Butler plays tonight, go dawgs.

My car is currently down for the count…

This past weekend, at the BMWCCA Club Race School, I had a rather random failure. The mount for the ignition coil broke it’s 2 spot welds and it fell down. The positive terminal shorted on the exhaust manifold and fried the ignition wire between the round 101 harness connector on the firewall and the splice near the ignition, iteslf. We traced that and replaced the wire, but there is still a major draw on the system somewhere. We couldn’t find any other wires that had fused, though. It was a very frustrating (and cold) Saturday…

My car is at D-Craft Motorsports and I hope to have some news on it tomorrow. Fingers are crossed that it will be fixed by tomorrow and other items will get wrapped up in this week.

Denny and Jamie both did great in the Club Race School. Jamie has some stuff to wrap up on his car but, with a little encouragement, I think he might make it. He’s still on the fence, though.

I guess you didn’t read my getting started FAQ ;). This is a known weak point and if you haven’t already you should drill out the mount and put a proper bolt and nut through it and then locktite it. I have faith you will still make it. Weather looks kinda crappy, it might rain, I’ve saved a nice spot for you…

Here is the common failures thread, it is mentioned in there also.

Well, looks like I may not make it at all this season. I took a new job, and am going through a corporate relocation. I will now be trying to sell my current home and move to somewhere near Chelsea. My funds are still there to build, but I have no idea when I’ll have time to work on the thing, much less have garage space.

Always something right?

My car is currently at D-Craft getting the major mechanical issue sorted out now. My wheels are tires out for mount and balance right now. When I get the car back (tonight hopefully) I need to replace my pads and rotors then install my new window nets. I just asked Lynda to transfer my entry fee to this weekend so it looks like I’ll be racing. It’s gonna be tight so I will probably need to do my annual when I get to the track early Saturday morning.

Anybody need a roomy for Saturday night?

#97

Can’t remember who is there Friday but please try and save as much space as you can around that tree. I won’t be there till Saturday if someone can save me a spot I’d appreciate it.

#98

I forgot to tell everyone of the new regional Spec E30 rule. Those needing annuals on Saturday mornings and those that need a spot saved Saturday morning
have to run at 2750lbs.

Please make sure you bring the required ballast.

#99

So up here we have to be 2750? and if we race anywhere else 2700? I’m wondering why that’s in effect up here? I thought the weight was reduced to help us deal with miatas.

Read the entire post. This only applies if you need an annual or a space saved on Saturday morning.
