Mid Ohio April

#21

You could just leave it in a WalMart parking lot.

Uh, seriously, though… Maybe TC Kline? He doesn’t have a TON of space, but maybe. You could start calling up storage facilities in the area…

Denny,
John Ackerman and Donald Cepek are both possibilities for the first race, which would get us to 10

Sean is planning on it. I’ll remind him.

Michael, I’d help with the trailer but as you know mine got broken into last year so we basically store it empty now. Have you asked MidOhio? Alternately I’d look for a fenced u-store-it near the airport.

[quote=“ilateapex” post=54890]so far this is all that is signed up:

Simon Hunter
Dennis Barker
Anthony Magagnoli
Michael Osborne

So, get off the fence and sign up. As you all know NASA has a great refund policy and it seems that if you move your registration to another event when you have to cancel I have never been charged a fee.

I still need help storing the rig while on vacation. Any of you guys in Columbus help me out? I am willing to pay if need be.

As I recall, you have a 22Ft trailer? I’d offer our driveway, but we’ll need to be able to get my wife’s car out of the garage. I live in the city so space is tight. Attached are pics of Jeremy’s 20ft trailer when I had it here over night a few years ago. We’d need to shoe-horn yours in the next spot over. You could keep your van parallel parked out front. We have street lights so it should be relatively safe.

My trailer is 30’ tip to tip. I appreciate the offer. The Van is no problem as I can take it to long term parking at the airport. I may even be able to do that with the trailer but have not called yet. I hate to put you out like that so will keep looking at other possibilities. I plan to post over on NASA forums and ask in GL region.

I could probably set you up with a place in Cleveland but it would still be a 1.5 hour tow from there.

#26

It’s no problem. But I’m concerned you wouldn’t be able to make the turn into the driveway. I typically pull into my neighbor’s driveway to line up before reversing. However our street is pretty narrow. Sorry. Have you called Mid-Ohio? They may be willing to let you drop your trailer there.

#27

Signed up and ready to go! Who plans on going to Grattan and Autobahn this season? I ended up buying 5 races up front since NASA does the drive for 5 deal.

#28

I’m probably only going to be able to do the Mid-Ohio races. It might be kindof monotonous, but I have conflicts with Putnam and Grattan, at least.

#29

I’ll probably be doing Putnam, 1 other Mid Ohio and Nationals.

#30

My plan is similar, Mid-Ohio (July and August events) and Nationals. If budget allows I’m hoping to tack on Putnam in May as I’m not sure I’ll have the car ready for the April event.

I’ll certainly be at the track in April either instructing, crew, or both.

#31

My schedule right now looks to be April and August Mid-Ohio, Grattan, and Nationals. July M-O is a probably and won’t know about Road America until after Nationals. No Putnam.

#32

I’m thinking about Road America if other people go. I think if I do that though I just have to buy the last Mid-Ohio instead of getting it for free then NASA pays for my nationals. What kind of fields are we looking at this year? Mid Atlantic even seems to be dying down.

#33

I plan to do all the Mid-Ohio’s, Nationals and Putnam. Not sure about the others as they are a long tow. If enough sign up though I would go.

I no longer need a place to park the rig before the event. My vacation plans got modified so the need is not longer there. Thanks for the suggestions.

Michael

#34

I’m already signed up for everything except Road America. So there will at least be one of us!

#35

summary of who/where:
http://spece30.com/forum/28-great-lakes/55127-2011-participation-plans

Cameron, I go to the SCCA Runoffs in Sept at Road America and every year it’s already cold then, so I’d much rather go to VIR in October. Just food for thought.

#36

VIR is my home track. Definitely a better plan in my book

#37

Looking forward to it fellas…hopefully no snow/sleet this time. My Dad will be crewing for me and is looking forward to meeting this SpecE30 family

#38

Looks like we’re getting a little closer to the 10 mark.

I’m planning on attending this event and it will be my first time with the Great Lakes region. My home region is Mid-Atlantic.

#39

I believe there is potentially 13 or 14. This may end up to be an awesome event. New motor is going in this week!

#40

I’m signed up… Does Mid-O permit camping?
