Michael,
Will you be there on Friday as well? I’ll look for you and say hello.
I’ll be there in a Silver 4 door e30 - #55.

Yes, I will be there for Friday. Actually I will be there on Thursday night and camping all weekend. Will be 6 of us in the trailer.

We ran the pro course. I was a solid Mid Packer. Won one and Lost one. This is definitely different from my ITS car. More sway, Less grip in the rear, not as good breaking. Still a very fun car.
My best time was 1:46.091. I only got there once. The car was fun but I am glad I had the weekend to sort out some issues. I played a lot with tire pressures to try and find the right spot. Not sure I like the ABS or maybe mine is not working right. Also went to the dyno and have a bad dip similar to the others who were at nationals as well as running lean during the first half of the RPM range. I changed the AFM and that helped the dip but it seemed to gradually get down on power after about half through the race. The car ran cool according to the stock temp gauge. about 1/4 to 3/8 mark. My 71* T-Stat may be too cold.
I have a lot of questions for when I get more time. I guess 1:46.763 would be the official record for Spec E30 on the pro course as that was my best race time. I was still able to start behind all the GTS1 guys and get by them in the first few laps. My main competitor from last year did not make it to race day as his motor went out on Friday.
All in All it was the prefect weekend to be at Mid-Ohio. I learned a lot and hope to improve the car and me and be ready for nationals. Will try to make Putnam if I can swing it.

Mike, with the 146s that you posted, I’m thinking it is time to go to Daytona with the wife for Biketoberfest this year instead of making a trek to Mid Ohio. Eastwood had it right, "A man has to know his limits."
Looking at the notes from last year, we had both Cobetto and Goldwaite in the 146s in qualifing with 146.837 and 146.367 respectively. No one got into the 146s during the races which were later in the days.
Great job. Come see us at Road Atlanta.I’ll save a podium for you and others.
Regards, Robert Patton
Keep in mind Robert that this is without the kink at the key hole. Not doing that kink is rumored to knock 1.5 sec. off your times. So that puts me in the 147’s.

Yup it was around 1.5 seconds in my J-Stock car.
Mike, oops, that clarification puts you with everyone else in the pack. Should be fun chasing Simon and Jon.

Jon maybe, I haven’t even put a time on the board yet so who knows where I’ll be.

I haven’t put a lap up at MO in a spec either, so who knows. Would like to get out there at least once before Nats. When’s the next MO race weekend anyway?

July at Ohio is definitely doable, but RA in August will be a stretch. Those are some long pulls for this Yankee. If there’s 20 cars signed up I’ll go… The MA race at VIR is the end of July and then we’ve got Summit the end of Aug. Could be a stretch. If they were closer, I’d be there in a heart beat. 9 hours to MO and 12 to RA. VIR is close, only 7… Summits the closest at 3.5
