For real right? We can’t have more racers from the Southeast than locally. I know Lucas is running the Honda, so I’m not sure if the other drivers Kyle and Sean are driving. Osborne is on the fence he hasn’t touched his car since nationals, I’m sure we can talk him into it. We also have a new racer coming over from the BMWCCA KP class who is trying to get the car finished up before April. I’ll get a hold of the others and see if they are coming.[/quote]

Our car is still bent from Nationals. Jeremy is working with the body shop. Once it’s back, we need to swap in the new tranny and replace (or hopefully rebuild) the exhaust. A little too much to do for April.

We’ll be at Putnam in May for sure.

Chuck and Robert, I am going to have to back out from the trip.

As much as I would like to drive Mid Ohio, I don’t think I can afford it.

I heard from the CDI and it looks like I won’t be able to sign up as an instructor. Which means, I will have to pay for three days of HPDE plus I will also have to rent a transponder since it’s mandatory for HPDE4 group.

Little too much for me. You guys have fun.

P.S. - By the way, if you have a AAA card, you can get a room at La Quinta for
$53.10 per night.

Not that it means a whole lot to the racers, but I’ll be there running HPDE (for now). I plan on camping trackside if it’s still an option.

Don’t sell yourself short, everybody is welcome, I hope you will paddock with us up in the grass. You know you need someone to bullshit with when we’re hammering on your car

Thanks Simon, hopefully there will be less hammering and cussing this time and more track time

Well I just signed up for the April race. Will be there on Friday as usual. My Dad really looks forward to these things so I guess I will take the weekend off from working on the new house and go racing.

I spent all last weekend getting ready and fixing crash damaged. I sure love aluminum bumpers! Could have been much worse. Having some trouble with the oil cooler so just broke down and ordered a new one. I hope the alignment is OK as I don’t plan to do much else to the car.

NOW, where are all the racers? I thought the south was going to rise again and make the trip to M-O. If I bring some of granddaddy’s hillbilly home brew would it help? I used to use it in the gas tank but they don’t allow additives to fuel anymore.

At least I get to see the locals again and hopefully will not be doing the rocker arm swap this time.

Hope to see some more sign up.

Awesome Mike, my tranny just went south on the truck. It is still under warranty from the last rebuild so fingers crossed I won’t have to pay much. Still haven’t touched the car but I think its more ready to go than my truck. See you soon in our usual spot.

#53 is going to the body shop tomorrow. Happy to see it fixed, sad to pay the bill.

Does no one have any tranny R&R suggestions?

Looking forward to having you back on track with us. I have no useful suggestions on the tranny.

Where are all the racers? There is not too many signed up as of now counting all the classes. I will not have cable or garbage collection before I will not race so it can’t be the economy.

Any of the souther boy’s comming up?

I think its a combination of the economy, it falling on easter weekend, Nationals being at Miller and this being probably the least desirable Mid O weekend (weather sucks sometimes).

They have bowed out to go to VIR in July instead. From a spec E30 perspective we should have 4 cars as I believe Tom White is coming as well. That is actually pretty good for us for this event (we had 3 last year which included 1 Mid Atl driver). We currently have 6 Active racers in our region (I’m counting team fasttech as 1 and including Anthony M). There are a couple more who could join us this year and quite a few who are building or going through the comp school process. 5 was the most we had at any 1 race last year and we have the potential to beat that, maybe at Bluegrass which is probably going to be the most popular event this year. It is also the closest to the south if any of them change their mind

I’ll be there, albeit not to race. I’m running my M Coupe in HPDE, though. The E30 is coming together and I’m planning on dropping it off at Elephant Motorsports in April to finish it off. Where do you guys usually set up camp?

Hey Sean, Mike and I usually setup camp in the grass by the bathrooms. You’re more than welcome to park the M coupe there and hang out. At least you have the right rear suspension :). See you soon.

#35

Simon,

Have you seen the schedule? It states that for the race the grid is all grouped by time. I would hate to be 5 cars behind you just because I am a second slower. Do you have any insite on this?

All I requested was a rolling start, I’ll ask and see if we can split out at the back like we normally do.

Here is the flyer they made up for the event.

#37

I spoke to Bryan Cohn the race director and he said that would be possible. We might have to remind him but should be no big deal. See you soon.

#38

Thanks Simon. It seems we go through this every event. It does not look like a very full event. We will be there on Thursday night but I do have a hotel for this early spring event.

No problem. Just look for the cones that have DEBCON painted on them. Oh, and there will be my car sitting next to my trailer as well. Just move some cones out of your way and take a spot.
