Don’t tease us

I REALLY want to do Mid-O this year, but my first child is due April 10th so something tells me I won’t be at this one!

I’m still hoping to be at Bluegrass. Any idea when that registration goes up?

Probably after the putnam event in May I would imagine, don’t worry I’ll be the first to sign up when its available so I’ll let everyone know.

Don’t tease us :)[/quote]He is tempted. I’m working him over to hitch a ride in his 2-car hauler and both of us do this event. Anybody else from down our way interested in joining in?

How many hours is it? Wonder if Mr. Junky could survive the trip up and back…

Edit: I just looked it up. It looks like about 14-16 hours. 10 hours is my limit for one day driving in Mr. Junky.

#8

Only take that long if you drive 55…Google Maps tells me:

Driving directions to Mansfield, OH
634 miles about 10 hours 6 mins

Take a 2-liter pee bottle, skip the bio stops and you could make it under 10…Come on Chi, you know you want to!

#9

I guess I could last 6 more minutes.

Ok, if you guys go, I’ll follow in Mr. Junky. However, if Mr. Junky breaks up there, I need a spot on the trailer. Otherwise, my wife is not going to be very happy.

So, is the Spring Break road trip on or not?

I need to make some arrangements if we are heading up.

#11

Come on Simon, do some cheerleading. Are there others from the mid-states that are comming to the event?

Any interest from the MA crowd?

It is looking like Taylor, Row, and Patton will invade from the SE. Row doesn’t race, so that is a field of only 3. Wow, a podium finish (been there, done that…no fun). Others?

Regards, Robert (bigger race fields are more funner) Patton

For real right? We can’t have more racers from the Southeast than locally. I know Lucas is running the Honda, so I’m not sure if the other drivers Kyle and Sean are driving. Osborne is on the fence he hasn’t touched his car since nationals, I’m sure we can talk him into it. We also have a new racer coming over from the BMWCCA KP class who is trying to get the car finished up before April. I’ll get a hold of the others and see if they are coming.

Some advice for first timers:

Been to mido 3 times and got my a$$ kicked every one of them. The track is very technical especially in the wet :S. First timers should do at least a test day and even then you’ll only start to figure out your line.

Car setup is tough because there are some really long low speed corners where you need good rotation, and also a few off camber high speed sweepers were you want some stability.

The drive there through the mountains is almost as difficult as the racing itself. And the track workers are just plain evil.

But its a really fun group to run with :).
I definitely recommend it for those looking for a challenge.

I’m the KP racer making the switch over. I should be ready for the April event. Robert Allen, I made the trip over to VIR a couple times (where I met you), you can do it! I’m looking forward to a big crowd!

#15

Simon, I’m a computer dummy. Would this get more attention if moved to the General Discussion area? Can it be moved? Good idea?

Anthony, good move to race with fields of larger numbers. KP is okay fun, but not that much fun in a spec car. You’re going to like the spec crowd.

Confidence factor for the SE racers…75%.

I doubt it would make much difference.

Looks like I’ll be able to make it. Got new traqmate to try out, so look out! I’ll be lapping you guys soon.

Damn, sounds like fun!
I’m missing my old home track :frowning: (although having Sebring as a new home track isn’t too shabby).
I don’t think we’ll get back there until Nationals heads back in 2011. We were going to try to get to Nationals this year, but that was before the change of venue…
Have fun!

If General Patton and his crew are heading up then I will be there for sure. I may never get to move into my new house if I go as it now consumes all my time (anyone see the movie Money Pit??). I should be able to dust off the car, beat out a dent or two, change the FPR and add some vinyl and maybe even bleed the brakes and be OK to go. I guess I could even do this stuff on Friday or Saturday at the track.

So, If the SE guys for sure make it I would not miss it.

Does anyone know the CDI for the region? I am trying to get a permission to instruct before I sign up but no response on the email request so far.
