I like it too. Seeing something different everytime you login is cool.

My screen hasn’t adjusted yet though. Everything is shoved over to the right side. I have to pan back and forth to read posts.

I am glad they have changed and are different almost every time the page loads, but I am not entirely sure that three of the first ten photos that appeared as I sifted through were of an illegal motor, a car that had just been in an accident and has pretty good body damage, and a red car on track that is not a Spec E30.

Just some feedback when considering the image that is being portrayed

The photo’s that are being displayed are pulled randomly from the Media Galleries, User Galleries.

Awesome pics! Most are from NorCal and are Spec E30’s in action. I really like the new front page, lets keep this going with more and more pics!:slight_smile:

I agree that posting gallery shots to the front page is a good way of freshening the curb appeal of the site. Glad you like the shots, I’ll post the NorCal closer at Infineon after NorCalspecE30.com chooses some for their homepage…

How about a monthly contest - winner gets a credit for the winning pic and a SpecE30 hat? Site managers would be responsible for picking from shots entered. That might encourage participation from all the regions… Maybe a grand prize at the end of the year for the best shot, sponsors could contribute somthing…

jonmca: I believe the shots of the “illegal motor” were from a gallery featuring an Australian E30 racecar - not a SpecE30. I suspect they weren’t intended to depict a specE30 motor at all. I went back to the galleries to find the shots but it looks like that particular gallery might have been pulled by it’s poster…

jonmca: What “red car on track that is not a SpecE30”? I could not find the shot you referenced in any of my gallery posts…

grydemon: Any pics uploaded to the galleries are reduced to VERY small size. I suspect this is the reason for them deteriorating when re-enlarged to the front page…

The non-SpecE30 photos including the engine photo were of an E30 that I saw when at the Zhuhai International Circuit, China last year. I posted the album when creating the new galleries as a test and neglected to remove it, which I have done now.

Glad to see there is so much interest in this change. I’m exploring how I can improve the image quality.

In regards to pic quality, maybe you could increase the gallery pic file size so they will show at the same size the home page shot displays at. That way you wouldn’t have two file sizes to deal with and your homepage shot would be better quality.

Image changes were made several hours ago. Images that were loaded prior to the change may be deleted and reloaded to improve quality.

Is it possible to enlarge the images in the gallery section to the same size as show on the homepage?

What I meant to ask was whether the gallery images could be enlarged to show at 800x600 rather than the smaller size? The home page displays at 800 but the gallery shots when viewed as a gallery show at the small size.

Part of the problem is that in IE7 the images are not being resized properly and are impeding on the right side objects. Firefox will display properly… either way I love the change.
