We have in house corner scales, Hunter DSP alignment rack, Hunter tire and balancer equipment. We also have a Mustang Dyno. Looking to Sponsor NorCal SpecE30 cars
Great offer! Let us know if your program develops.
Thanks for your support.

Why can’t you live in VA beach! Good luck i’m sure somebody will take you up on that offer.
Thanks for the words of support. I think we need a good swift kick on the west coast to get this going! We’re going to run 2 cars of our own but in the meantime I need to get my competition license so I can join the fray!
Walter
I am not sure what all you are looking for, But I am interested and will be running in Northern CA. Will you be running the HPDE at Thunderhill on the 28th of June? Depending on whether or not my suspension comes I will be there. It would be great to run with another e30…
Brenden,
I replied to your email. I am willing to help ANYONE building a spec car. I do want to field 2 cars of our own and directly support 2 independents. My shop is in Rancho Cordova (Sacramento) so I can provide light fabrication, alignments, corner balancing (non adjustable suspension cars can benefit from ft to rr weight shifting), use of the lifts low cost parts etc.

Well the front to rear weight balance can only be changed by installing and un-installing parts that were originally on the car. This is pretty hard to do and stay above weight. No other balast is allowed as far as I know.

Next time the Navy moves me to Lemoore CA, I’ll give you a call and we can put your sticker on my car

My E30 track car is at 2450 lbs W/O driver and enjoys an almost pefect 50/50 balance, it is not my spec car.
I haven’t started building it yet but have 2 donor cars waiting to be stripped. We can leave on A/C copmpressors, P/S pumps, re-install the spare etc. Since I don’t have a race ready SPEC car as of yet I am still working on a good baseline setup. I want to come up with a good formula of parts etc so I can build turnkey SPEC E30’s quickly. I have 3 in house cars confirmed and at least 3 independents that I will begin to help in anyway I can.
MikeD: If ther eis anything I can do for you let me know… OEM parts, aftermarket stuff etc.

I am going to run the 2 days in August 27th and 28th at Thunderhill with the BMWCCA. I need to support a driver that we built an E36 M3 for. I am going to run my toy (E30) on both days to gain more experience. After that event I will only do NASA HPDE’s and work towards getting my license. Weekday events are hard for me to run at because of the business but I think I will run at least one of them to get alot of track time.

Thank you very much, we (me and my father) would greatly appreciate any help you could offer. [/quote]\
If your looking for someone that does this all day long, take a look at www.dpmotorwerks.com. I and many other spec e30 racers in the mid-atlantic region trust dave with our upmost respect. This guy knows what he is talking about. He is a felllow spece30 racer and a BMW master tech! This guy can answer all your questions!
Hi Walter, I have an interest as well. I have a car (87 325iS) that I have begun the transformation to SpecE30 with, and have just recieved all my suspension goodies this week. I live near Walnut Creek and would like to talk about what you have in mind.
I have some autocross experience and plan on starting HPDEs this month. I was signed up for the Thunderhill HPDS for this Tuesday but due to a critical conflict am now going to miss but will be on board for the next ones coming up.
Brendan, I look forward to meeting you one of these days - sounds like we are in similar spots and look forward to talking with a fellow e30er.
Cheers,
-AJ
MarkD: I look forward to running a similar program as DP. It is my hope that other shops in California will get involved as much as I plan to.
Goldfish: You’re actually pretty close… send me a list of whtever you need and i will see what I can do. If you need rack time we can work that out as well. If you go to our website you can get our contact info.
AJ: Sounds great to see there are other cars developing. Will you be able to do the HPDE at Thunderhill on the 28th of June. It would be nice to run with another car. Let me know how far along you are and what your plans are. My e-mail is bselvig@calpoly.edu. Peace.
I would love to as I don’t have to work that day, but I only have AX experience and from the Nasa calendar it is HPDE 2-4.
Anyone help? What are my options to get to HPDE 2 by the 28th? Go to Reno on the 24th? Any flexibility for an HPDE 1 on that day?
Brendan - I’ll pm you with my info in a bit - I’m going to go wrench on it for a bit this afternoon.
-AJ
I MAY be at the June 28th event. I will have to leave my business on autopilot if I do but I think it will be good for me to attend. I have Thunderhill experience so I hope they will let me run with group 2. I can probably run group 3 but I will need to prove myself to them first…
goldfish: Will you be at the BMWCCA autocross on June 11th?

Walter, when you get a plan for turn key spec e30 cars, let me know. I would build one myself, I just don’t have the free time right now.

I have 90% of what I need. There is a cage builder around the corner that runs Honda Challenge cars. He is going to build my cage first to get the dimensions. I think I will be able to build turn key cars within a month or so. All I will need is a donor car. I am thinking that 45 days from start to finish should do it.
BTW I WILL be at the June 28th event…
Walter,
Would you be doing the turnkey cars on the side, or why would it take 45 days? Anyways, I will be there at the HPDE running in group 2 also…It should be fun.
AJ,
Will you be able to make it to the HPDE on the 28th? It would be really cool to have three cars there…Where are you in your build?
Should be an extremely fun day…
