Have a 1988 325i convertible E30 that has a bad instrument cluster… Tach, Temp and Usage meter not working… Per the ohm multimeter , I do have input at the plugs but the tach is still not working… Consensus says , its the cluster also a know E30 issue…
Does anyone know who might rebuild these? Have the parts to rebuild? Or know who might have a used one that works?

A tested used one for $100 will be 10 days before I could ship out.

The two common issues are the grounding becoming loose on the back of the cluster and the SI board batteries going dead if the car sat without 12Vs at the battery for a period of time. I know the cluster in my street E30 has that same exact issue currently, but I have been too lazy to pull it out and fix it thus far.
Bingo! Think you hit the nail on the head… Had an alternator issue, battery got run down, ruined a cell so it won’t take a charge… Voila - next thing came the cluster issue!!
