Infineon Weather March 18,19,20 (Shoe no peeking)

#1

As we creep closer to the race weekend the forecast for Tuesday March 15, early morning rain then clearing, winds SSE @ 5 w/gusts to 15 mph and temps in the low 50’s.

#2

I predict I will walk out to Sun and 68, my head will be dry and the track will feel like 85. We will all drive fast. Some will drive faster. Some will drive slower. Some will crash. One will win each day!

I also predict that the sun will be in the sky whether we can see it or not.

Poppy you are fast. Drive just a little bit faster. Love you baby!

Looks like rain slips into Thursday afternoons forecast then clearing out early Friday morning.

Dam you looked, it was supposed to be a suprise!

#4

Update, it looks like Thursdays rain slips into Friday afternoon then clears out by 6pm then partly cloudy.

#5

Things are changing, looks like showers on and off most of the day Friday and lingering around until early Saturday then partly cloudy with some sun until rain/showers return Sunday morning until about mid day. So it looks like a mixed bag so far but look what happened last race weekend it was beautiful…

#6

After looking at the two model runs, one indicates ridging and a dryer second half of the week and the second indicates a wetter pattern. I’m going go out on a limb and call it 50/50% chance of rain/showers!

#7

My weather forecast source states a chance of pole position and a likely chance of victory.

He he he!!:silly:

Brad,
Tabloid weather reports don’t count! According to my reputable sources, there will be an afternoon glare of the bright sun from #42 in front of you

Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!

#10

So when does the majority arrive at the track to get the front row parking? Do you guys camp out to get the good spots?

#11

We pregrid at the North end of the Golden Gate Bridge at the vista point look out Thursday night. Come join us it’s a hoot…

#12

Rain forecasted for Sat / Sun :frowning:

#13

Now everyone wants to be a weather man!!! update tomorrow!

#14

So we know by now Friday rain then turning to showers Saturday and lingering Sunday. Friday’s day long rain totals could be over 1". Saturday’s rain will be much lighter with the days total under .25" so it might be more of a nuisance then driving with standing water, maybe even a dry line on track, but I still think the usual creek crossing on track will be flowing because of the weeks rain, the 1:00 hour will be cloudy, no showers for the SpecE30 Qual.

Sunday I’m calling it cloudy and damp, no rain.

This could all change so stay tuned for these riveting reports…

#15

I’m caving on the optimism, Friday heavy rain, Saturday and Sunday, rain /rain showers.

See ya there,
OUT

I’m not going to make it up there tonight. See you all in the morning.

So - did anyone get any pictures or video in the monsoon? The new car’s transponder wasn’t working for qualifying, it was fun starting 31st in those conditions!

#20

I got some video from sunday mid pack. I’ll try and post it soon.

Thanks to Scott and walter and Alex from Valley motorwerks for helping have the car ready for this event. It was quite an experience switching to RWD in those conditions. Great meeting you guys, looking forward to Thunderhill in april.
