Infineon Weather March 18,19,20 (Shoe no peeking)
Congrats to BTM Brad…aka “the rain master”, you were dominant force this weekend. You should be offering rain driving classes. See you boys at TH.
Crazy fun, or just Crazy I am not sure which. I did question myself as I at on the inside of 1 watching you all go by, “what am I doing out in these conditions?” But like the rest of you all,I sucked it and raced Sunday, and this time kept it on track.
I will post video on Vimeo.
Here is a call out to all the Old Spec E30 drivers to Mentor the new Spec E30 drivers, even if the “new” or “rookie” racers aren’t really new to racing. Spec E30 in my opinion is what is is because of the quality of people, and that is what makes the racing GREAT! We need to keep the great people and comarderie that has made this a great place to spend a weekend. If it becomes only about winning, at any cost, tactic, attitude, etc. then this series will die a slow death like so many others.
Sometimes great organizations can become a victim of their own success. Scoot cannot on his own, teach and pass on the code that exists in Spec E30, o we all must be responsible to help with this.
To all the new rookies or simply new to Spec E30, I say welcome! I am sorry if I did not get to say hi to each of you individually. Your enjoyment of the series will rise and be maintained if you embrace the spirit of brotherhood that exists here. And as you can see everybody races hard and we want to be able to have a beer together and high five when it is over. Sometimes we need to say we are sorry for a bonehead move, and it has happened to all of us. In my opinion the Racing is Real and the Botherhood is Real. Pit together, hangout together, race together.
I was once again, as I am so often, happy to see so many Spec E30 competitors attend the awards presentation. It is another thing that seperates us from the rest of the series. It is very cool when your peers care enough to be there and acknowledge your accomplishment that day. (yes I know we are anxious to get home, with my 6 hr drive I was home at 2:00 am) Scuff was even there, although not able to race, he spent the day helping and cheering on his friends, guys like Scuff are what make this series great. (really sorry about your Car and hope you are back very soon!)
Congrats to Brad for another win! MAD car control skills! I guess we should all be practicing in Autocross. They say Iron sharpens Iron, this group definitely helps sharpen you. Great to have Former Series Champ Donny back in the mix, he reminded what bump drafting in the rain is all about!
So boys Enjoy THill. Wish I was goin’ be there. Hug your wife or girlfriend. Remember why you do this, and keep the spirit alive!
Shoe out.

Oh - and I’m working on putting together video from Sunday - sadly, my Saturday drive video from 31st to 7th was victim of a camera not suited to life in a race car.
Awesome drives all!!!

Great post Kevin! I’ve been super busy at work this week and have been kind of spent in the evenings…so I’m a bit tardy on my post-race download. My plan is to get it emailed out tonight. Your idea about getting new entrants immersed into the culture that is NorCal SE30 is right on. It is something we don’t want to lose as the group grows. I’m confident that internal awareness and working together we can keep that spirt that is NorCal SpecE30. It is also cool to watch SoCal SpecE30 develop a tight knit group like we have here. I’m looking forward to cross-over events with them!
Lastly, thanks to all my fellow racers for the awesome gift (the custom jacket) you guys gave me last Saturday. What a great bunch of guys I get to race with!!
Cheers,
Scott (Scoot)
