Infineon Roll Call November 8th & 9th

#1

Hey Guy’s,

Who is in for the final race of the year?

Looks like we are running practice, qualifying and racing with the Miatas, PT, ST, SU and HC on Saturday. Sunday if I read it right we are with only the Miatas in group E with practice, qualifying and two races. First race on Sunday is based on Saturday’s qual with Sunday’s qual for the second Sunday race. I hope that is correct it would be great fun to run two races on Sunday like the Miata guy’s always do. This is the schedule link: http://www.nasanorcal.com/eventinfo2008/nov/November_8-9_2008.pdf
Is anyone running with Track Masters on Friday? They still have room last time I checked.

The dates on the schedule say November 7th and 8th. Would this be from last year? I am confused which is not hard for me. Scott can you clarify?

It says Nov 7,8 2008 in the copy I just downloaded, and we’re in group E with Spec Miata both days. Regardless of the schedule, I’ll be there

#4

I’ll be there! :cheer:
Regarding the dates on the schedule they’re likely typos…I emailed NASA to clarify.

Cheers,

#5

I know that Ron is running TMR on Friday…for what it’s worth so am I:-)

#6

AWESOME! That is gonna be so much fun! Glad to see that the race on Saturday is a non-points race.

#7

I think I need help… My name is Anthony and I am addicted to Spec e30.

Count me in, I’ll be driving the Speed Trapp Racing #48 car. I think I am instructing with Trackmasters as well on friday so I’ll see you guys there!

#8

we will be in attendance with the TenTenths / Auto Anaylist II car.
Lets see who quals and who races…Anyone want any black paint?
? elliot ya gunna show your face again or let donny get you stickers?
Lots “O” cars at the back of the pack for you to race now.You should get some tenth place experience…HAHA sucka…

#9

We’ll be there with 2 MAYBE 3 cars for the season closer!

#10

“O”-boy, I knew it wouldn’t be long before I got thrown under the bus, a rookie’s right to passage, I guess!? BUT I hate to disappoint you all, I’m sorry to say I won’t be at Infineon for the closer so you will have to pick on the Green 76 car for 9th place. Believe you me, if it weren’t for a 31 year old tradition I’d be there to protect my spot. For all you guys mixing it up behind the leader, my high school coach said “second place is the first looser”, so all but one of us is in the same boat and I welcome you all aboard! HEHE!

#11

Hey Y’all,

Looking forward to the November race @ Infineon. Does anyone get together for dinner on Friday nite ??

Where to eat in the area ?? Ron H

#12

Hey Ron,

Rickey’s at the Inn Marin is ok. There is a Mexican restaurant, I think its Maya Planeque near Inn Marin on Redwood Hwy. at the Ignacio exit. There is also Wild Fox at the Alameda Del Prado exit which is one exit south of Inn Marin. I am dropping my car off at the track on Friday around 3:00 or 4:00 and will hang out for a while then head back home. I would be in for dinner Friday evening if anyone else is. Are you running with TMR on Friday Ron? Where is everyone staying?, of course I will be staying at home as I live in Ignacio :P. Carl also lives in Novato so we two are lucky enough to be able to go home each night, what a bonus!

Scott C

#13

So dinner is at Carl’s or Scott’s???

Personally I vote for the Wild Fox, a bit pricey but it is very good…

#14

Scott, Glen & I will be at TMR on Friday, haven’t heard from any other SE30 guys that will be there.

I live close enough to stay at home but I’m up for dinner before heading home. Any restaurants are OK with me. The Wild Fox sounds like an interesting place even though my chasin’ fox habits left me years ago.

I’ll look for you when you bring your car and we should be able to hook up with Walter, etc.

#15

Cool! I’m also staying close enough (at my sister’s in Pleasanton) to go home but dinner would be fun. I’m up for whatever place works for everyone else…

Let’s get a list going:

Kevin/Carl
Donny/Elliott (? on Elliott)
Scott N
Brenden S
Scott C
Steve K/Alex K
Ron H
Adam L
Walter F
Greg P
Tony Z

Question marks:

AJ
Doug J/Dan T
Mike S

Can’t make it:
Bennett M.

I sent this out in an email but I’ll repeat it here too:
There are a few interesting twists to this last event that affects SpecE30 racers. First off, we have assigned new paddock space for this event. It’s in a different spot than we’ve been parking in which has been behind the big grandstands. Our new spot is on the south end of the paddock, behind Tech. Here’s a link to the map prepared by NASA:
http://www.nasanorcal.com/eventinfo2008/nov/IR_Paddock-1.pdf

Second, if you’ve looked at the schedule, SpecE30 has been combined with Spec Miata and we’re now in Group E. We’ll be doing our usual standing start by ourselves, the Miatas will be following the pace car and will be doing a flying start behind us. We should be able to run our own race for the most part by ourselves…no more Super Unlimited cars to deal with or dive-bombing Hondas  link to schedule:
http://www.nasanorcal.com/eventinfo2008/nov/November_8-9_2008.pdf

Lastly, we are going to have three races this weekend, a non-points race on Saturday and our final two points races on Sunday. I think the way it works is the Saturday non-points race grid and the first Sunday points race grid will both be based on Saturday qualifying session. Sunday’s race grid will be based on Sunday’s qual. That’s how I read the schedule…I’m sure the details will be explained at the driver’s meeting.

The 15-day weather forecast is looking promising too:

Cheers,
Scott

Damn I hate being a question mark.

#18

I will be there doing the instructor seminar… no Race Director for me next year as I plan to race the full season. So I will be instructing instead of RD.

Well AJ ol’buddy…you can change from being a question mark and race with us at Infineon  I’d love to see you out there in my rear view mirror:lol:

You gonna take that smack AJ. Ya know you gotta come race the last race this season with us.
