Idiot Light Help

#1

My car has been running lean and my CEL light was not cycling when I started the car so I wanted to investigate to see if that light was working or not. I found a few loose lights behind the dash cluster and the ABS port with nothing connected to it at all. Wanted to know if I figured out where the lights go or don’t go.

Picture one:
From the site connector I saw the Brown Black and Green White wires going to a bulb. I think this is the CEL light. Correct?

Picture 2:

No idea what this light if for. There is an open hole on the cluster bear the blue connector. Is this just a general illumination light. IF it is mine must be blown as it does not light up when I turn the lights on. The wire to the light are Red Grey and Green.

Picture 3:

This wire was just loose behind the cluster. Its a single wire Blue Green.

I also don’t have any wire going to my ABS light. There seems to be an entire wire harness cut out and I can only think that is one of the removed wires. Hope that harness is not important. No idea why the previous owner would gut that out.

Thanks for your thoughts.

How do you know that your engine is running lean?

No ABS light means no ABS. The system has to detect that the bulb is there and works, or it disables ABS.

I posted some A/F ratios a few weeks back and the car is lean.

My ABS works as I can feel the feel the peddle pulse when I get too deep into the brakes.

If ABS is working then I wouldn’t worry about the indicator light.

Have you tried a stomp test to see what codes your DME reports as responsible for the CEL?

I thought if my CEL light was not on during operation of the car there was no issue? Am I not understanding that correctly?
