I should have seen it coming...........

My wife and I bought a beach house last fall and have been going there every other weekend ever since. Between that and being busier than ever at work I have no time for racing any more. And since I’ll be at the beach so much I have found a boat that I am supposed to pick up on Sunday. All this explaination to say that with very mixed emotions I am selling my car. Since my wife has never embraced my racing I figure a boat is a much better family activity. I’m sure I’ll be back someday.

If any of you know someone looking for a very nice fully prepped car tell them about mine. Here is a link to my ad on Bimmerforums. I plan on racing next weekend at VIR unless someone buys the car before then. If I do race next weekend PLEASE everyone stay away from me. I don’t feel like having to fix the car to sell it:lol:

Ken,

sorry that you will not be racing with us anymore, but just yesterday someone asked me if there was a spec e30 car available. I think you have a solid lead for you. Give me a call this weekend, I think you have my number.

I’m sure you’ve heard the two happiest days of boat ownership.
The day you buy it.
The day you sell it.
You’ll be back.

Ken,

Selfish as we are… we are all going to hate to see you go. But it doesn’t sound like you are giving anything up.

The race last September at RRR was one my best races. Thanks in large part to you. I was kind of hoping to try to complete a pass on you this year  I guess you got away… again.

While you are at VIR. Be sure to have David White look at your car. He’ll be driving JP’s BeerTech #155. I can’t imagine he’s going to be able to resist Spec E30 much longer, and your car would be a great find.

Best of Luck.

Thanks

Thanks guys for the kind words and wishes. I’m sure I’ll be kicking myself soon for doing it but as of right now it feels like the right thing to do. Maybe I can rent a ride for a race or two this summer.

Yeah Scott, that race was one of my closest battles to date too. Part of my decision to retire is because I want to quit before you get past me and I know that was going to happen soon

Where’s HAMMMERTIME? He needs a big orange car.

#8

Ken, I understand the time issues, but I really hate to see you leave us. :frowning:

Ken,

Although I didnt race all year last year, I had a blast racing against you in my two VIR races last Feb. We all hate to see you go and hope you will be back soon! We can always find a seat for you in an enduro or something!

He’s not going to sell it. A month or two is going to pass, that craving is going to kick in bad… shakes start… You’ll buy the car back if need be… Racing’s too addictive. Ken, don’t do it. It’s more fun this year at the back of the pack than last year if you can believe that!

#12

Craig, I’m sure that you are right about me craving it soon. The problem is that most of last year I was mid-pack and this year I’m afraid that I would be at the back of the pack:S What I need is time to commit to track time and a personal coach. Maybe soon!

Don’t do it Ken, you’ll regret it.:frowning: When I sold my first race it just about killed me. I was only out of it for 1 year before I couldn’t take it anymore

I owned a 35ft sport fisher and I can say I loved it, but after 4 years of year round EXPENSIVE maintenance I was happy to get rid of it.

Definition of Boat: A hole in the water surrounded by wood or fiberglass in to which one pours money.
