I don’t think our clutch did. We had a slight vibration after we went to VIR in december and it got worse just by running the car so we decided to get pallister to pull the tranny and he found this.
I like standing starts but.....
Is a dual compound half racing/half stock somewhat lightweight custom clutch legal to run in Spec E30? Looks like a way to counter some of the effects of a lumpy race cam to me. Was the car able to shift at all? My clutch on my 944 went out and I could only get in into one gear (4th). Luckily it was at Roebling so I was able to finish the race, and somehow ended up winning. Changing gears must be over rated, atleast at that track. Are these clutches easier to change than a 944 clutch? If not, I’m going to sell the E30 before I even start.

The trick is to remove the trans cross brace and let the engine tilt down and rest on the subframe so you can get at the top bolt, using a really long extension and a U joint.
yea they aren’t too bad at all. Like sean said the top bolt is the tough one. We just replaced the clutch with a brand new sachs oem clutch. I really like how the stock clutch feels, and I’ve learned how to manipulate it pretty well so we decided not to change anything.
and yes I could change gears and everything. The car drove great and the clutch didn’t slip! But there was a horrible vibration. I’ve never had this happen so it was an odd feeling.
