How light can I get an 86 325e?

#1

Hi All,

I just discovered your forum today, I love all the e30 talk! I’ve raced an 87 325is in SCCA autocross DSP since about 2001. But that’s not what I’m here for, so I’ll move on…

I’m considering an e30 for a 24 hours of LeMons car ($500 budget basically eliminates the ‘i’) and was wondering what kind of weight I would get with it totally and completely stripped and track ready?

Thanks,

Mac

With full tanks and without my ballast mine is about 2550lbs. I have a pretty extensvie cage and still have the windows. You should be able to get to 2500 very easily.

Mac,

Welcome. Several guys on this site have raced etas in Lemons.

You might try a separate post entitled “Who has raced Lemons?”. You’ll get some action there which will undoubdtedly answer your questions and probably save you some time.

BTW - There are $500 “i” cars out there.
