hoping to join the fun, parts needed

#1

I live in Wilmington, NC and I’ve been looking for an e30 for a couple of
months to convert to a spec e30. Yesterday evening I purchased an '89
325i coupe with broken automatic trans but a rust free body and what seems
to be a good running engine.

I hope to build the car out and have it ready to run by late fall or early
spring at the latest. My first task is to convert it to a 5sp. I can get a 5sp
conversion kit from EuroDepot shipped to my door for 1195, but I was
wondering if anyone out there has any of the following parts laying around: 5sp gear box along with support bracket, pedal set, fly wheel/pressure plate, master cylinder, slave cylinder, shift lever and assiciated linkage, drive shaft,
etc.

Also, I’d like to ask any tall drivers out there what the best seats are for this
car. I’m 6’3" and want to make sure that the holes for the shoulder harnesses
do not sit below my shoulders.

Thanks!
Steven

Check with Bret Leuter or Al Taylor…they both are members on this board. Bret is in NC and I think Al just moved near VIR…they may be a source of some of the parts you need. Welcome to the group and feel free to ask away, this bunch of folks is great.

Thats too funny my car is exactly the same, an 89 with a broken auto tranny. I ordered the euro depot kit yesterday and I should see it by the end of next week. It seemed like a pretty good deal considering it comes with everything needed to do the swap. August Road Atl here I come.

I’ve got a really nice low mileage 5 speed tranny…its’ my backup but I’d be willing to let it go for the right price…shot me an email if your interested.

OBTW…I’ll be in New Bern NC on 16/17 of June so I could bring it down with me.

FWIW Ultra-Shield seats seem to be much shorter in the shoulders than Kirkey. The pictured U-S Rally Sport is a 16" and the Kirkey is 15" across the hips. I’m 6’-1/2" and my shoulders come right to the middle of the holes on the Kirkey. The red seat is too short, so will go in the A-driver position. I have a 15" U-S Pro Road Race seat that I need to ebay, because that thing is so short, the only guy who fit it in my shop was 5’5".

Have a great time in the birthplace of Pepsi, Brain. The TOQ here is Ok, for a Marine base.

Hello

I have everything you would need to convert, including a trans that I road tested, $650…and I could probably haul it somewhere near you…

Thanks
