Help a Brother Out! - Need Trans, Pedals, Etc,

#1

OK, Finally pulled the trigger and bought a Southern donor car.

Only problem is that it’s an auto… Thankfully it has a LSD.

Anyone out there who can help out with a 5 speed, flywheel, pedal cluster? I can source the other parts relatively easy…

I know there are some breakers who sell a kit but at $1495.00 it will kill the budget.

HELP!!!

The all important question: Where do you live?

The rear end is probably a 410 with it being an automatic.

Ditto that - our auto to manual swap required changing out the 410 diff as well.

Steve D can verify this too. Funny story how he got his number, I’ll let him tell it.

Here’s a hint… if you keep the 410 just don’t post any in-car video!

Son of a B…tch

I knew it was too good to be true that the diff would be right. Although I have no immediate plans for in car video

I guess I’ll have to see if a swap is in the cards…

Any who… I’m located in Rochester, NY (no jokes)

Send me that tranny & flywheel !!!

Thanks

PDS, better to find out now than to think you were a born racer with straight away talent.

I’ve been racing for 20+ years - those illusions are long gone!

Congrats on the car. Searching Craigs list usually nets some good finds or being made aware of a local dismantler or a good wrecked donor car.

I will see if we have any good donor cars in the Philly area.

Thanks Jason, I appreciate any help…

We carry rebuilt trannys for 600 each with trade in, $750 without. pricey compared to c-list but at least you wont get stuck with a bad trans at the track. I have a car coming in with a pedal set, 100 for the set.

And whatever you do, don’t rely on this info:

An 87 model year auto will have the correct 3.73. Later cars as already stated had a 4.10

I have a 3.73 I would trade you for your 4.10

Try Guten Parts in NJ to help source some of your parts

I want to thank everyone for their help… I’m happy to say that I have sourced all of my parts - including a 3.73lsd!

It felt like Christmas today when I got home and had a ton of parts delivered!

Now it’s time to start the build!

Thanks again.
