Have a laugh at my expense

Just completed replacing water pump, all belts and hoses and did a once over, then a twice over…sat down to start her up and then decided to give it a thrice over…finally convincing myself that it made more since to just start it than make sure the OTC lined up for the fourth time she cranks right up. So, according to my 101 Projects book it tells me to let her warm up to operating temp and then cool and refill coolant to capacity. Here I am just standing in my driveway watching the temp gauge when BOOM, radiator fluid goes flying everywhere. Pissed for a moment that I blew my radiator figured the first thing I should do was wake my wife up, tell her I need to buy an aluminum radiator…half asleep she agrees  Go back in the garage smoke has cleared, I started looking for cracks, holes, etc. Can’t find a damn thing…THEN…I notice a hose just chillin, forgot the freakin clamp and it blew right off. Of all the things it always seems to be the simplest.

Moral of the story…tell your wife what your going to buy when she’s asleep. Daddy’s gettin a new racing radiator!

Hope to be on the track with you all soon.

Nice. Sounds like the time I filled up my car with oil only to find that I forgot the drain plug. :S
