gran tourismo 5 false start again

#1

After 4 years of waiting I drove to gamestop to pick up my preordered copy of GT5 this morning. And apparently I didn’t get the memo that its been delayed again until January. Right after I got home my logitech G27 arrived via ups which I had been planning on buying for the last 4 years as soon as GT5 came out. In January they’ll probably come out with prologue 2 and delay the actual game for another 2 years. The prologue should be free just to attempt to keep me interested. I’ve now spent 900$ over the last 4 years for the main purpose of playing GT5.

Anyway I just wanted to bitch and there is no one around to hear me so there it is.

Sorry man, I knew about the delay the day they announced it. I would send the G27 back and just keep playing Forza 3. I really don’t think GT5 will beat it, but I will still be buying a PS3 and GT5 once they are actually out and I have seen it with my own eyes.

I think I would rather sell the xbox and microsoft wheel to pay for the g27. The only thing I like about forza III is that Road Atlanta is on it and so is the e30 m3. I think shift has a little more realistic track mapping, but the only track I have to compare with the 2 that I have been to is Road America. Forza 3 was good practise for Road Atlanta but now that I’ve been there it just seems completely inaccurate. I knew GT5 finally coming out was to good to be true so I expected the worse anyway. Shift doesn’t seem to play well with the g27 even though its fully supported. I just bought dirt today which is pretty fun if not impossibly difficult. On the PS3 games you can adjust the force feedback. I never figured out how to turn it off on forza III.

iRacing, rfactor, and F1 2010 for the PC. FTW

Why screw around with games? It is time to get serious!

(I hate that he is going to miss that one since he’s at the hospital with JP v2.0.)

PS - I tried out the sim at a NASA weekend. It is pretty cool to be able to hit the reset button and not stroke a check to the body shop.

iracing… GT5 won’t deliver in Jan either… don’t hold your breath.

I read that they started stamping out the GT5 discs today so there is still a good chance for a before Christmas release date. I really would like to try iRacing or rFactor, but I don’t even have a PC that will run them. I enjoy being able to just turn on my 360 and play Forza 3. It doesn’t have to be a hard core simulation. I don’t need a $25,000 simulator because I have the real thing.

it would be nice to just turn on the xbox and play something. Unfortunately for most xbox owners it involves removing and reinserting the disc 200 times for it to finally recognize that there is a disc in the drive, even though its a new game and the xbox is only a few months old. As for Iracing, microsoft pissed me off so much that I put my gaming laptop through my wall. I was even more pissed off at the fact that it survived (Asus are awesome). So now it bends perpendicular to the hinges and all i have is a netbook that can’t even play a movie.
