Glen weekend Sept 25-26 with BMW Club rental

We are heading up to the glen this weekend for the bmw club de and race. We have one seat available if anyone is interested in racing or drivers ed. Come up and run Watkins Glen, its awesome.

How would you compare the DE they hold versus the NASA that is there on 10/1 and will the instructors sign a NASA passport book ?

I would have to see the schedule and compare track time but the bmw club event will probably be less crowded which could mean more track time. Both clubs have good instructors. The bmw instructor program is more comprehensive and more is involved to become an instructor. that doesnt necessarily mean you will get a better instructor. yes the bmw club instructor shouldnt have an issue filling out your nasa passbook.

GVC has one of the best instructor programs in the country. They pioneered the Instructor Training School.

IMO, BMWCCA offers more consistant instructors, whereas after you get past HPDE2 in NASA, you’re not guaranteed an instructor. Again, only my opinion, but I think NASA sometimes promotes students too quickly. That, and I don’t think that anyone ever stops benefitting from instruction. I understand that running solo is beneficial, but it needs to be complimented by some solid instrucion each weekend. /end rant

I’ll be there Fri-Sun coaching 2 racers, as well as co-driving the enduro. Looking forward to seeing you again, Kish, and meeting you, Andy.

Thanks for the feedback. I checked the website and the school was closed for registration as of 9/16. I will have to try them later.
