First look at the new car

#1

So I’ve owned the car for 5 months, but hadn’t had it on a lift until yesterday. Crossed my fingers there wasn’t anything bad hiding underneath. Turns out, I was missing the obvious–NO CAMBER PLATES! Who builds a car with a pro motor, and spends the bucks to have BW weld in the rear adjusters and all the other bells and whistles, but doesn’t put plates in the car? Oh well, I was going to have to come back anyway to get the seat mounted. Ended up getting the new GC’s.

Overall, the car looked very good. All the bushings are good. Needs one front wheel bearing, and could use some rear end links, but otherwise everything was in good condition. We hit our weight right out of the box (2731 with a full tank of gas). With just alittle shifting of spring pads, we quickly got the cross to 51%–that’s pretty good for these cars, right? Tested the diff and it broke at 54–not bad.

Tech went fine. Just need to disable the steering wheel lock, which looks easier to do than on the E36 (which wasn’t all that hard).

So the setback puts me alittle behind on time and budget. Gonna have to forgo a dyno for now. Cross my fingers that a test n tune on the friday of the Autobahn event goes well. Gotta get the fluids changed, the fire and cool shirt in. Was hoping to do that this weekend but I ended up leaving the car at the shop.

What were the front camber numbers. Maybe the P.O. favored the fixed camber crash strut bearings, or the not so legal bent strut technique.

Ithink the left was 2.9, but I know the right was 4.9!

I can only get 2.8 with plates.
