Fault Code Reader / Reset Tool

I’m looking to buy a decent, reasonably priced fault code reader/reset tool and was wondering which mfg/models people find to be the most useful? I’d like to find one that can read the codes in the E30 as well as the OBD-II codes in my 2005 325xi, 2002 Cooper S, and 1999 F250. Is that possible? Harbor Freight always has several listed but was wondering if it would pay to spend a couple of extra bucks on something else. Anyone have any recommendations?

Motronic will blink the codes at you if you turn the key to “on” then depress the accelerator 5 times in succession.
