Endurance race fueling question

#1

For those that have done an endurance race with an e30, what’s the fastest you can fill the stock 63l tank from empty?

What’s been your quickest pit stop with driver change?

I’ve got fast flow jugs and gutted and radiused the filler neck already.

We are breaking our endurance racing cherry this weekend at Texas World Speedway and are curious on pit stops.

Thanks

I did some experiments on fueling back during the Lemons/Chump. With a normal VP fuel jug it took about 3:30 to completely empty it. Then I cut out the 2" sheetmetal plate in the car’s filler tube so I could use a big hose to the fuel jug. Then I could fill the gas tank in a bit more than 30secs IIRC.

Without excessive mods to the stock filler and vent of the fuel tank, 63L fill should be around 40-42 seconds. Dry breaks and proper venting, I estimated around 20-25 seconds. But that would require welding in new vent and filler on apposing sides and dry breaks which are very expensive.

Driver pit stops should be less than 20 seconds.

I have found enduros to be an emotional roller-coaster ride. It is a completely different driving style and thought process involved. I find it very interesting and challenging, which is why I love it.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info guys.
Having never done an enduro, I’m like a little kid waiting for Christmas.
