Different Chassis compatibility

There is a '86 325 local to me for sale. What parts would be usable for an '88 Spec E30? Are the fenders and doors the same? How about the rear of the car? Half shafts, sub-frame, diff, front sub-frame…

You get the idea.

That depends on what your car was built from. There are body differences between early, face-lift, and plastic bumper cars.

If you car is like my '88 (face lift), everything body panel wise is like any late model including the lower rear wheel openings but obviously not the diving boards. Denny ('87) and I actually compared rear fender openings at Putnam Park. Other than the rear quarters, I would think pretty much everything on the '86 should bolt right up to your '88.

I don’t think you’ll find an lsd in a 325. It may have been an option though. I think all the other suspension and drivetrain bits are the same though.
