Damion Moses in GRM

Great interview, Damion. I personally don’t think you’re all that, but the interview sure made it sound that way.

#2

ha,ha. did you recieve your copy already? I have been saving up pennies so I can 20 copies;)

#3

I’m trying to remember, when did you ever beat me straight-up in a non-inverted race?

Dude, are we going to do this again? I really don’t feel like going through my laps at this point. I hate to say it but you are really starting to believe the hype. It’s not a good look. Just enjoy the fact that a fellow SE spec e30 racer got some notice. I even paid you compliment in the article. Get over yourself.

#5

No. That’s not the point. You do more shit talking about yourself than I do–I’m probably the least cocky guy in the paddock. The fact that you went out with false info on a National scale to build yourself up is a perfect example. Go ahead and look through Mylaps.

And I’m pretty damn tired of everyone complaining about me winning. It’s racing, go faster, beat your competition. Travis did it. If you all would stop whining long enough to focus on what you’re doing, you can beat me. Travis beat me straight up at Rockingham by focusing on prep and his driving. Go do it for yourself and beat me at Road Atlanta.

didn’t finish ahead of you here, but until Brandon and I got together I don’t even know if you were within 10 secs.

Still, not even the point. Who is the everyone complaining about you winning? you are fast, no doubt about. faster than me, I admit it. But seriously everytime someone says something about beating you get defensive and then try to hide it with a smiley face Icon. As for me trying to build myself up in national publication, come on. No reason for that, I know I am never going pro racing. But you on the other might have a shot getting a non-pay for play ride if you found a personality.

#7

Wow, I’m not gonna take any personal shots at you. Hope you come racing in December.

#8

BTW, I want to add. Apologies this went the direction it did, but I made my first comment with the knowledge that you are always one of the guys that takes smack talk at the fun level. You are the first to give it out, and generally willing to take what you give.

I don’t have any problems with smack talk, but I don’t like people that stretch the truth. Saying you were “ahead of me most of the time” in 2007 based on one race where you were ahead of me for some of the race is a stretch. We had great battles many times, including the IFU, and I wish we had more of that this year. I know you’ve had some bad luck and missed several races, but gimme a break.

Seriously, hope you make it to Road Atlanta.

You basically called me a liar 2 post before. it gets no more personal than that. I hope I see you too at Road Atl in Dec. but a suggestion, you go your way and I’ll go mine.

I apoligize to the others reading this because I hate what this thread turned into. I look forward hearing other opinions on the article as I would hope the Spec e30 SE crew would enjoy seeing one of there own in a national publication. I took it as on oppportunity to shout spec e30, the SE gang and the people that helped me put my car together. Again sorry you guys had to watch this sink to where it did.

I would like to think I speak for everyone, in the SE at least, that we are happy you are out there with us. I know Im not running up front but I like the idea of racing “with” you. And I know the guys around you do to. It makes everyone better. Look at all the cars we have at an average race. We dont have any bad drivers, just a lot of very good ones. This shows the tough competition from P1 all the way thru the grid. We didnt get this way by accident.

That’s the whole point of this right? To become better and go faster? I know Im not going to go pro but I still want to get better and beat everyone. Im very competitive as is everyone else on the track. That’s why we do this. It may get old hearing about winning all the time but its all in jest really. I’ve never met a person that didn’t like you. Youre a great guy and always willing to help out a fellow racer with data or setup or anything and we all appreciate that. It makes us better as a whole.

Like we discussed at Rockingham it was really scary seeing the driving “stlyes” and judgements made from some of the other classes around us. It really opened my eyes to the talent we have in Spec E30. Im not afraid to race door to door with any of our drivers but I was scared to death that Joe Schmoe in the XXXX car was going to turn into me because it seemed as though he had no idea what was going on around him.

If I thought for a second that anyone was truly serious when they say don’t come back because they are tired of losing to you, I would lose a lot of respect for them and wouldn’t care to race them anymore. That’s a cop out. People just want to see you excel and make a career out of this. We do want you gone but that’s because we want to watch you on TV, kicking someones ass and getting paid for it.

I definately do not want to get in the middle of this especially since my mail service seems to be a few days behind schedule (I have not read the article) and I havent been around for that long. But I really hate to see you two like this.

Mike-
I dont think anyone genuinely dislikes the fact that you win almost everything you enter. For example cobetto has personally told me that he is thrilled to have someone like you to measure himself against. Like brian said, it is all in jest. I can understand that you are very serious about your future in racing, but I think you have to get used to this kind of thing as a byproduct of your success. The faster and more famous you get, the bigger target you become. You will be attacked, misquoted, etc. But you can’t try to track down every peice of media attention and cover your reputation in these situations.
Even leading a field of 8 in an obscure class like PTE at hyperfest, I came under attack and was eventually accused of cheating because my car is an “i” not an “is”. Its the same when you always hear about that guy who claims he beat so and so F1 driver in a kart race nobody remembers.
Anyone who knows anything about you knows you have nothing left to prove in SE30. You are SE champ, National champ, and likely Mid atl. champ.
So take this stuff as a compliment. Damion obviously respects you or he wouldnt have made thos claims. So try to be friends again :).

Just my advice- take it or leave it…
you are older, more experienced, and faster than me

#12

Good advice, indeed.

My intention was not to make enemies of Damion, much the opposite. I called him out as a form of smack talk, as is the norm in the SE. I hope this does cool down, because I like having Damion as a friend.

As for the other stuff, I know it’s mostly in jest. If there’s anything I’ve learned though, it’s that you can only change yourself, so focus on what you are doing to improve (not getting rid of competition). It may sound cliche, but if people think they can win and set out to do it, they can beat me. Aim for best of the rest and that’s probably what you’ll get.

But enough about that. This is a thread for Damion. The article was a good one and I learned more about you than I think I ever knew. You just haven’t been around enough this year buddy!

Ok… that looks pretty harmless.
I think this all started when the emoticon didnt do its job in post #3. So seriously- can we get an agreement to forget it?

internet breakups are stupid :frowning:

You guys need to talk on the phone and get it off the internet.:frowning:

Damion and Mike are the exact reason I’m leaving…its definitely not that I’m poor or wife-whipped.

I can’t believe they did a feature on the most boring guy in the paddock! :stuck_out_tongue:

You will be missed. I will especially miss DJ assaults Ass and Titties blaring from your truck on race morning;)

#18

Damion, it looks like there might be room for a McCain-Palin sticker on the quarter panel.

Mike, The day you quit racing with us will be a very sad day, and the day any of us beat you means you had equipment problems.

#19

I just read thrugh this and read the interview with the Damion fella. I can’t say that I’ve ever met either of you in person. I’ve watched Skeener race at the VIR and he’s one fast Mo Fo. And that’s why I try to exclude him from my smack talk. I can’t say that I’ve ever heard of the other guy? but it sounds like you 2 need to hug it out. I suggest you settle this over a good ol’ fashion pit fight! We should put you both in diapers and have you duke it out in a kiddy pool filled with baby lotion.

And if yur have trouble reading between the lines… I’m trying to tell you… yur both babies. And if I make it to Road Atlanta, I’m gonna spank you both.

Teddy “Big Daddy” Walker

PS: All you guys caught a brake at the Rock… I’'m a free man now and I will be full on in '09 so watch out.

Oh… PSS… RIP Paul Newman. I met him once at his camp for kids in FLA. He was one classy dude

Well  I think cooler head will prevail here. At least I hope. As we all should know… what we say sometimes can have some of how it was intended to come across lost in the written form. I hope you guys will patch things up by December. Bring some of that Christmas spirt and peace on earth sh!t with you when you come. There has been too many hurt feelings and feuding going on this year.

Now you each have had something in writing taken out of context. So I say it’s draw. No Harm. No Fowl… unless Al is bring his big old cock from CMP.

Kudos to Damion on the GRM page. I haven’t read it yet but I’m sure you were a fine ambasitor of the SE Spec 30 serise.

Time to move one… Love thy competiotor untill he doth get tis racing mobile yon past yor own and then at that moment you shall bra granted full rights to commence to a sportsnam like resolution, punt that SOB out of yours way be it a guard rail or be in hog tied in a porta potty… something tell be this isn’t gonna be an event like the rock (Thanks to JP and Brains Shenanigans) … see what happens when I’m not there to manage the chaos  At any rate… lets see a little more love and welcoming at the next event.

Although if Ted-d-bag shows up with a kiddie pool?? We may have to find a use for it
