Convertible Ballast?

When I took delivery of my 87 hardtop, I was told by its ex-owner that the car had a piece of convertible ballast somewhere in this hardtop, I thought he said below the battery box, but I can’t feel anything under there. Maybe I misunderstood him. Is there ballast in a convertible somewhere, and if so, where?

I’ve read that it’s in the battery box at right-rear as you described. I’ve no first-hand knowledge of this tho.

A vert mounts the battery in the engine and has a ballast weight in the trunk where the battery of a coupe or sedan would be.

Hmmm, my battery is in the trunk…Same location as both sedans I owned??

Shoot, I had to borrow one of those from another racer to make weight one weekend.
