I’ll be there, mostly to drink Travis’s beer and tell lies as I’ve never been to CMP before. (Excuse #1, many more to follow)
I’ll register this week sometime.

I may make the ride down with my roommate (who races in 944 Cup) just for fun… I need to get more time around u guys. I’m trying to decide what to build/buy when I sell my E36 M3 at the end of this year. Can’t afford to run GTS so I’m thinking Spec E30 is the way to go… I want to meet a few of you and to know everyone before I possible start racing next season…
Kevin
not trying to dissuade you from Spec E30, but GTS is basically "run what you brung" hp/wt classing so it could be done cheaper than Spec E30.
cheers,
bruce

GTS also ends up being a lapping session given the disparity of the builds and run what you brung rules.
Sean - I’ll be signed up by week’s end.
JP
Bruce - but you fail to acknowledge that the competition level seen in spece30 cannot be approached in GTS - sure you are racing, but not with a group of cars of similar prep, etc. Mid-atlantic competition with 20+ cars at recent events has been awesome!
Ed
no question about that - I was just reacting to the "can’t afford to run GTS" comment
cheers,
bruce

not to take this off topic, but i’d rather run in very smiliar cars over the wide open rules of GTS… Plus to be a front runner in GTS u need to have a lot of money. Plus I just like the E30s and seem to enjoy the closeness between the Spec E30 guys over the GTS cars. I hope to meet some of you down at CMP.
OK, I just signed-up Brandon and myself for CMP. We’ll probably split the car between HPDE3 and SpecE30 each day. Hopefully we’ll get another large SE/MA group to make it exciting. We’re staying in the Executive Suite at the Executive INN!!!
Keith
Excutive suite?!!?!?!
That must mean there is toilet paper in the bathroom.
Is it too early to start talking junk?? I predict a Malt Liquor Tech front row! those of you staying at the Executor will be too tired to even qualify, it is hard to get any sleep when there is a house party going on next door.
Al
Well Al, Mike and I will also be staying at the "Executor" but we have a back up pop-up camper at the track if we don’t have AC/working shower/toilet paper. Hopefully, my car will making its debut - sans paint - with David Pallister and I splitting the races (my payment for him towing the car to the track). Looking forward to battling Malt Liquor Tech.
Damion, you gonna make CMP?
Jonny Allen
No Jonny. The car is being repaired right now but CMP is about 2 weeks before Roebling Rd. The budget won’t allow for race weekends that close together and I really feel like I need to do Roebling to support the SE region. Plus I need to take the track record at Roebling from Robert. I already have CMP. Well that is until you get there;)
Damion,
You know you’ll have to beat me at Roebling and you should be worrying about that before you worry about anything else. B)
Anyway, I’ll be at CMP, but this whole arrive and drive thing isn’t working out as well as everyone talks about. I’m not going to be able to get my car up there, so I’m coming up to instruct and hang out (it’s my birthday and I’d much rather be at the track than at home by myself since dad will be out in Vegas). Us arrive and drive people don’t always have it so great. I’m so pissed I won’t be able to run the race, but I’ll be there to watch.

Man that is a big field for that track last year we had some really close racing, the back part of the course kind of bunches everyone up, I am looking forward to it. Anyone that needs a stopover coming from DC, I have the place near VIR or my farm right on I 95 jsut south of the VA border.

This will be my first trip to CMP - anybody got a detailed map of the track area? The web site only has a blueprint of the track and an aerial shot. Just wondering about the paddock situation, where to park, etc.
I’ll be arriving Friday night; according to the confirmation mail, track is open from 5-10. Thanks!

Thanks!
come in the gate and down the road. off to the right is the paddock…it is divided up into big rectangles. Close to the track is a single wide trailer…that is control…the big car port thingy is the tech area. There is no assigned paddocking. VIR, it is not…

 So I’ve heard. No matter. As long as we can all tear it up and get home in one piece, it will be a good weekend. Thanks.
