Carter, waiting for dust to settle........

#1

Tom and I are trying to finish car number 2, so…

Please post a new thread when the "new rule" questions are resolved!

#2

Yup - Great Idea. Maybe you could at least start a stickied thread, or post a news item listing the rules issues that are "up in the air" so that those of us in the building process can hold off on those things until those matters are resolved.

#3

since the Spec E30 Regulations can now be revised at any time during the year, I’d like to see a note placed in there when a rule change is pending.

I don’t see how it’s an issue. Most clubs give at least a month notice for changes that cost racers money.

Pro Racing gives us 2 weeks.

#5

1.4.1. Changes will have sufficient lead time for competitors to become compliant.

The only significant change right now is the exhaust…and existing cars have 8 months to make the change.

I know you’re eager to finish your cars and we’ll have the exhaust regs done in about a week.

the point is that someone could read the regulations and build an exhaust without realizing that the spec is in flux - why piss someone off if a short note could highlight that there is a change coming?

Eight months to change an exhaust is a long grace period. Thanks Carter!

Although, yet again, it makes one wonder why a change is necessary. Would not the pending horsepower and torque limits negate the special tuning of exhaust systems that is the reason that you’ve insisted that there is a change? How about some data.

I’m at a loss as to why you cannot reach a compromise with the 70-80% of your race group.

It ain’t over until it is over.Benevolent dictatorship–Yes, and thank you Carter for all that you’ve done. Dictatorship–No.

Racers, should you feel like I do you’ll need to send an e-mail to Bryan Cohn, NASA’s Competion Director at: competition@drivenasa.com.

Posting anything here is mind-numbing gibberish. Bryan is the man with the final say-so.

Robert, I just want to go on record that if I ever need a heart transplant and can’t pick someone to manage my case, I want Robert Patton to be in charge. Okay, I feel better now.

PATTON FOR PRESIDENT!!!
don, #22, (coming soon, soon to be illegal exhaust and all).
