Carr Industries now has 3 stages to SpecE30 Kit

#1

With this being our first post, we’d like to say hey to all the SpecE30 guys!

With the popularity of our SpecE30 build kit, we are introducing 3 different build kits to fit in your particular budget.

Stage 1 - $1999.90
Stage 2 - $2499.90
Stage 3 - $2999.90

Build kits are found in our SpecE30 category at www.CarrIndustries.com

These kits include a majority of parts needed to build a proper SpecE30 car. Buying the parts in kit form allows us to reduce our margin on the products and sell them at a reduced price. All products are 1st quality as other products found throughout our online store.

If you have any questions concerns our products, feel free to contact us at 336.931.0007, Brian or Carmine.

Thanks guys!

Looks like some nice stuff!

I haven’t heard of the Ruff parts - is that new?

Also, is the fuel accumulator legal? If so, how? And if is is, does it work with any configuration of fuel pump/pumps?

Thanks! I don’t know if I could stand the excitement of it all showing up at my door at once - the UPS guy and I are on first name basis!

John, the fuel thingee would likely fall under the category of “don’t ask for a ruling, 'cause you may not like the answer.” Truthfully, I’m not going to even look at the printed word to try and split hairs. Carter Hunt is mindful of things that work for the good of all of the racers.

We’re all searching for an answer to the fuel starvation problem. I’ve got one on order and will be glad (and hopefully pleased) to share the results with all of the Spec e30 community. Wow, it cost $45 if it is found to be incorrect or doesn’t work.

Regards, Robert Patton

K - gotcha. How about the second half of the question, then… 2 pumps or 1, or it doesn’t matter.

I have one pump…

Hi Brian or Carmine,
In the stage 3 kit you have a mason strut brace - are you sure that can be installed and leave enough room to get a tool on the camber plate bolts? I tried it with the ireland plates and had to give up due to access issues.
thanks,
bruce

Carr Industries is a great company and great customer service, I just received the ruff camber plates and will be installing them this weekend.

Interesting… I have never experienced a fuel starvation problem. I have run on the track with less than 1/4 of a tank and the car doesn’t seem to have any hesitation.

Is this an issue with earlier cars? Mine is an 89.

Maybe I am just not driving hard enough…

Fuel starvation sucks. Definitely more inclined to happen on the old cars (87’s).

On the other hand, I have not yet done my due diligence and replaced pumps, filters, connecting pipes and checked tank for sediment. Parts are here to do so though, but will have to wait until after Barber.

Ireland makes (made?) an accumulator. If you search on the old threads, a) the accumulator is not legal and b) people said it didn’t work. Stubborn as I am, I’m half tempted to try one… Seems to make a lot of sense to me.

As a thought about the fuel starvation issue…

I wonder if it’s such a prevalent problem due to all the different culprits that can cause a problem?

Sometimes it’s a pump, others it’s a kink in the hose (and doesn’t like their ho’s to have a little kink in them), sometimes it can be the tank, others it’s been the breather hose or filler tank leaking.

And those are just a few of the thing I’ve heard lately.

My point is it never seems to be the same thing… so can there really be a single fix?

FWIW: I have an '88 and can run the car till it’s dry without any starvation problems (knock on wood).

Bruce,

With the Ruff camber plates, the bolts are countersunk in the upper plate. So, you don’t have to remove the inner 2 bolts for additional camber(bolt heads go under strut housing), and, you can use a bar like Mason’s because of the added clearance.

Also, concerning the fuel accumulator, we were not aware it was illegal. Looking over the rule book it’s not clear either way. We have installed these kits here at the shop and have had great customer response. We’ll do some more research and confirm the legality of the product.
