Car Footage to fill in the offseason

Sounds good to me. There is one rule that some people might object to…the first car to break gets burnt to the ground. This year it was Canterbury’s ‘possum mobile. The Starsky & Hutch Slaab kept blowing tires. Al’s Audi did good until it got down to 3 cylinders. The Beereck 320 was definitely the Weird Al’s 1st Annual Dirt-Track Demo-Cross and Firearms Spectacular Champion. One of the few times you will see BeerTech whoopin’ up on Malt Liquor Tech. Enjoy it now boys. February is right around the corner.

February can’t get here soon enough.

BeerTech will 3 strong and and will be owning 6th place. You MLT sissy’s are going to have to get cozy with taking a whoopin’

You the man…

Man, you Beertech guys have way too much fun. You must all be not married.

I’m looking forward to next year hanging out with everyone. I’ll be placing my order for the suspension parts within the next week, and hopefully move to the interior after the first of the year.

most of us are married we’re just luck to have found some one will to put up with us (and our friends)

#25

Is it too much to ask for next year’s course to feature a jump?

#26

Not at all, it was discussed at length. However, booze induced laziness prevailed and no jump was made. Besides, most of the cars couldn’t do more than 2 laps as it was…

#27

Travis and I have already decided a ramp will be at next years event. We may even have a car just for jumping :woohoo:

#28

I want to come out to the farm and race! I’m serious.

Has anybody been watching the SCCA runoffs coverage on Speed? I caught most of the Hproduction race. It was really just a 2-car battle (Sprite vs Spitfire) but one hell of a good dice. They were trading the lead sometimes multiple times per corner. And it went on the whole race.

Here’s the primary schedule, but like other Speed programming, they repeat everything at least one additional time.

If you get a chance, check out the HP race. Good stuff.

Production values (and announcers) on par with Speed World Challenge…Maybe NASA Championships can get this level of coverage some day.

Man I would love to drive one of these cars!

Thanks to Rob Keehner for pointing out the excellent Bimmerworld videos.

This one however, is an example of why I don’t think we should have standing starts in amatuer (AKA pay out one’s own pocket) racing.

No time to react and at least $10,000 in damage to both cars. I can’t deal wih that.

Here’s a fascinating entry for the hobbyist in all of us. I think we should build a fleet of these for next year’s Al & the Possum Demo-Derby race.

From the Red Green show http://www.redgreen.com/

#35

That’s awesome. Where did you find that?

#36

I got it as an email attachment from a Carolina Mustang club acquaintance. I didn’t know anything about this Red Green thing, and I just pushed it up to Google video to make it easier to share. Here’s some more clips:

Finally got a camera so I could upload the RRR footage I had. My editing still leaves much to be desired.

There is no audio on the first vid and it sucks on the second vid.

Hey, MLT and Beertech guys, this clip from BBC’s Top Gear might give you
some ideas for next winter’s barnyard demo-derby. Good stuff
