big thanks to SpecE30 guys!

Despite my not yet being a SpecE30 racer yet, many of you came to my aid today at Summit Point when my beloved E30 suffered electrical gremlins. Thanks especially to Dave Pallister and thanks also to Brain, Steve Kapuschansky, Carter Hunt and Dan Smith. I successfully nursed the car home. I hope to see you all again at the next event.

That is why Spec E30 is a great group.

Time and time again I have seen fellow racers help other racers with parts, labor, tools to get them back on track.

I also want to thank everyone for the support and words of encouragement after the wreck. The people in SPECE30 are just great! After my ego heals we can talk about a rebuild.

I just wanted to thank everyone, again, for their hospitality, insight, patience and assistance. The weekend served to reinforce my desire to get myself & the car ready for next season. Thanks especially to Carter (I couldn’t have been luckier with my instructor assignment) and Steve Kapuchansky (& Pilar, of course).

And I’m very happy that both of the major E30 incidents this weekend (Steve Brendle’s barrel roll on Sunday & David (?)'s crunch during the FATT) resulted only in damaged cars & not hurt drivers.

BTW, Steve, who built your cage? :silly:

For sure, it was a great weeked…overall. We lost a beautiful Spec E30 car, and a soon-to-be Spec E30 car but as has been mentioned, both drivers are ok. I understand that the HANS (no affiliation other than being a recent customer) is not designed for four rolls but Steve Brendle mentioned that he thinks it could have helped him, as he walked away from the worst Spec E30 crash to date.

Steve Brendle and David Herrington; I’m serious about spending a day with each of you (or more if possible) helping you guys get back on-track with us. You guys helped me and I’m planning to return the favor. Maybe Billy Revis will donate some space in his shop one weekend?

It was also great to see a good turnout this weekend. Eleven Spec E30 race cars, several HPDE cars, and word of a few more being built over the winter.

Spec E30 racer Dave Palister has been contracted to build two cars in his new independant service shop in the Virginia Beach area. The NASA Mid Atlantic Chief Instructor Jeff Curtis is planning to build a car for next year.

And sitting in the right seat, with Dan Smith at the wheel of his future Spec E30 racecar was fun. He’ll be a good racer next year.

Thanks again to everyone who raced and drove in the HPDE sessions. I know that we’re nearing the end of the season and I hope to see everyone back in October.

And don’t forget about the NASA-Mid Atlantic banquet this winter.

The Spec E30 bunch is a great bunch of Guys and can always be counted on to help a brother out. It was good to see all of you and hope to see you all in October.

Hello All,
Well I joined the "off road" gang this past weekend with a light but undeniable trip to the inside tire wall at turn 5. We were able to knock the fender away from the tire, re-glue to splitter and get back out for the next (and remaining) sessions. It was an interesting debut into the HPDE3 gang. All that said, I had a blast and feel like I’m progresing toward my goal of joining you all out there.

I’d like to thank Wes Williams who did a great job in the pits. He helped several drivers out and doubled as SpecE30 photographer. I saw quite a few very impressive pics on our 5 hour trip home. I’d also like to say thank you to Carter, Carlton, Dan, Alex, Steve K, Steve B (sorry man! I watched it from the false grid - WOW!), Vic, Jon and the rest of the crew. You guys are great to hang with! Carter - you have created something very very special, thank you.

I’m in China now, longing to get started with the bodywork lessons that are now ahead of me. See you all as soon as possible!
