Well the powers that be in the Southeast region did us a favor and have added Barber Motorsports Park to the southeast schedule. Its replacing the October Rockingham event and is a good way to end the season if the nationals aren’t your last one of the year. If you haven;t done Barber yet its worth the trip. its no VIR or Road Atl as far as the track but it sure is pretty, and October in Alabama is some pretty nice weather.
Barber added to SE Schedule
With my newer (and reliable) tow vehicle ('04 box truck) this sounds like a good event. I’ve always wanted to do a race at Barber and the date sounds good too.

When you’re not racing, the museum is well worth the visit. I got a chance a couple months ago to check it out.

Definitely a must attend for me… Dameon, I’m starting to pick some of this "stuff" up so hopefully next time I’ll take the position and you can go spinning off the track instead
The museum is amazing at Barber. Don’t miss it. Never drove the track.
Carter…a box truck??? great idea. Tell us more. I keep thinking of buying one for my "business" to plaster with advertising and park in front of my office.
I am sure it would cost me less than 2 months of billboard advertising in richmond.
(but it would also have a lift and tow stuff too!!)
What did you get? how much does it tow?
It’s one of our company service trucks. 2004 E350 with the 5.4 I believe. 15 ft. box w/ side door and liftgate. Gets about 12 MPG with a load.
We’ve bought two brand new ones since buying this one about a year ago. It has about 75k on it and is going in for a major service this week.
With about 50k on it last year we paid about $17,000 - new they are about $31,000 including the liftgate that’s about $4,000, and the optional side door is extra too. You can probably find an older one with more miles for a lot less. I see them on used car lots all the time.
It’s rated to tow about 7,800 lbs. so it’ll handle the E30 and open trailer just fine. And in good weather, it’ll be our camping shed.
And like the enclosed trailer guys, having a clean and dry place to change into/out of your gear is nice.
