Balanced Performance Dyno Day, Saturday 1/12/13
Kelly 154/151
Parkhurst am 161/153 (Laura)
Parkhurst pm 164/157 (Laura)
Taylor 156/152
Parkhurst 157/154 (Danny)
Walsh ?
Not yet racing:
Jon 150/150
Ryan ?
Danny and I will take his car back as well as run the #241 some time this week.
FWIW: The Harness guys tried Laura’s ecu and didn’t pick up any power.
FWIW: Laura’s engine was new last winter and did a 155/151 at Balanced in Feb 2012.
Julio what were your numbers from the previous Saturday?
919 153/143 (with the AFM we ran at Nationals thru Dec Road Atl)
919 159/149 (swapped AFM)
190 158/157
147/146 Concerned about the low numbers for sure. The car was finally “feeling” strong on track again but it looks like we have a bit of improvement to find still.
Heres a video of the day at Balance and a teaser for 2013

Nice video!
Kelly, you have your data, correct? Download a copy of the dyno charting software and do a chart that shows more info. Focus in 3000k rpm and up, and add F/A graph between 11.5 and 15.

Add two more test to the spreadsheet:
Patton #241 157/154
#8 Black car 158/151

Some interesting numbers in here with the new HP rules.
I commend the powers that be for adding this rule.
I’d choose 160 hp/2800 lbs for championships at Miller and 155 hp/2700 lbs for Mid Ohio, but that’s just me.
Signed,

:woohoo:

Ah so, good find. This is going to be controversial but thumbs up from me. I think that in general terms this sort of thing was needed, and that this dyno scheme was cleverly done.
I don’t believe I have noticed a dyno machine at any nasa race I have been to this season in the MW or GL.
The question is:
Say you dyno at 161 and end up having to add a bunch of weight at the beginning of the season. Do you need to beg your SD or pay to have another dyno done, and can you, separately dyno your car to get weight taken back out?
Hell, I’d say even make the HP/weight thing more sliding toward the bottom, with 150hp allowing 2,600…
