Thank you Mike. I’ll be taking all of those parts and documenting the changes to be more knowledgeable and helpful to others in the future.

You’d think that after 4 years of racing these cars that the answers would be obvious.
What you toolboxes don’t know is that after the “by the book” racers left, JP showed up to prove to potential buyers of his wife’s race car what they are actually going to pay for. And apparently it’s a hell of a deal:

He kept messing around with stuff in between runs. I couldn’t tell exactly what he did because they had the garage door 3/4 the way shut (just enough to allow the exhaust to escape).
CG, that’s cool…how did you change those numbers?

Mike -

Thanks for the suggestions. All those parts were new at nationals, so I am thinking plugs or wires might not be the best? Who has a favorite high-power plug or wire recommendation?

Patton -

I am in Miami, so I won’t be over at BP tonight. Thanks for the invite, though.

Craig -

Best photoshop I have seen in a long time. Good laughs (after a brief “Holy $hit!” moment).

I’ll be at balanced on Tuesday night at 5:30 with parts from the 241 to bolt onto
the 911 to see if I can improve its results.I’ll also see how long the 8 car lasts before it blows up a set of newly installed rod bearings.
You’re welcome to come and join me. Plan on dinner and bench racing with Jason after the tinkering with the 911 car.

Anyone?

Regards, Robert Patton

I’d love to but no can do. I need to sort out a lean running problem too with my car, and I think a dyno and a bunch of spare parts may be the only way of correcting it…

Here’s my dyno graph from last weekend. It is plotted on a different scale from some of the others, so I think the jagged-ness of my lines is a bit exaggerated - but still not as smooth as I think it should be.

I’m down on torque. But reading everyone’s posts I am still digging for my old statistics textbook. I can’t figure out how 8 out of 10 cars can be below average on power?

Steve, there are several ways to make this a closed loop where no information is shared. Snide comments with laugh emoticons is a way to close it down fast. Consider the $412 bill that I had to pay to test and learn from three cars and time spent Tuesday night to get Laura’s up to par and perhaps you can better understand my comments. Four years on track with these cars, why should I help a newby?

Yep, you were out of town Tuesday night.

And, what could have been an open night of learning for all that were invited to attend, was a session with only Jason and Robert learning.

The lack of interest by the Atlanta crowd…well I guess that folks were busy.

Regards, Robert Patton

PS I it is the fall season and I need my jumper cables returned.

Robert -

I thought I had been pretty forthcoming with information on this thread. People asked what made a difference and I posted what I tried and what worked.

Thanks again for the jumper cables. Ryan put your cables back in your truck (behind the back seat?) after we used them. If they aren’t in there, please let me know and I will mail you a check to pay for replacements.

I’m not sure how I’ve managed to piss you off? I am sorry I couldn’t spend all of Saturday plus Tuesday night at the dyno. I’d be happy to send you a copy of my hotel bill from Miami Tuesday night.

If OPM and I have worn out our welcome asking you Spec E30 info, just let me know.

Steve, I can see that your blood pressure is up several points as is mine.

We can get the variation out of your curve.

Rather it urn into a match of words on a computer screen, give a call at your convenience and discuss the situation.

“If you don’t chew Big Red, well… fuc/< you.” Chew on this (real dyno from my car):

(No Photoshop gimmicks here… I wouldn’t insult myself by not knowing my first name)

Who the hell is Greg Geiger?

Sounds like a D-bag to me.

#73

Greg has a cheater motor.

And yes, he is a dbag. He will drive 12 hours round trip solo just to hang out with a bunch of doods in a field.

ROFL - You had that much power and that was the best you could do at the Rock??

#75

burn.

#76

PS - Patton and I spoke on the phone on Friday and both agreed that my joke (the one about everyone complaining they were down on power) wasn’t that funny.

It’s all good now.

Thank you , Steve. Yep, a bad day causes overreaction on my part to an innocent comment. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.Call when it is time to swap parts. One of these days I’ll understand how to fix instead of swap.
