Cool, let’s see what you’ve got.
I had lunch with Chuck Taylor and he kindly offered to help gimp-arm-man(that’s me) change the rod bearings on the 8-ball car so that I can bring a 160hp, junkyard,110k mile engine out for comparison to my other two cars.It tested strong back in March of this year.
I’ll also bring all of my dyno sheets from earlier test using chips and other exhaust. Our test will bring good data to the series racers in the southeast.

I’m in…
Now I have to decide whether to drive up that morning, which probably means not getting there before 11am, or come up the night before and get a room someplace.
Looks like I’ll have four cars, my three and Chuck Taylor’s.
Jim, get up earily on saturday and make the drive. I’m confident that we’ll be there for your start time at noon EST.

What time does the show start Robert? I can be there any time after 9-10 am or so…
Robert,
Like I stated in a previous post I would like to attend if you don’t mind having a DE(wait I’m a TT guy) guy hoping to join your ranks next year there. My car does not have spec exhaust yet though. So I guess I wouldn’t be included in the #'s. Never had #12 on the dyno so I would like to know where I stand!! Plus my cage could use a good looking over by some racers.
Greg Moberg
Greg, come on down. You’ll see some old runs that I did with the spec exhaust–runs that proved my assumption that exhaust didn’t mean diddly was wrong.
It will be good to give you a baseline for next year.

No, they have an AFM sensor that clamps onto the exhaust tip, and that’s basically it.
Greg, they have a sensor that goes in the exhaust.
See you this Saturday.

I hope spectators are allowed as I am coming to see what i will be up against within a year.
And to get lots of wisdom straight from the horse’s mouth.
Will Ranger be there?

Negative on me being there. I really wanted to go too, but I’m playing single parent Sat to the 3 monsters. So I’m setting up a group dyno effort for the day before the RA enduro.
I would imagine spectators are fine, because they are pretty laid-back there, but quality ear protection is highly advisable. That goes for the participants too. They have a few extra sets of good earmuffs, but not enough for a crowd. If you’re in the room while the car is running, you will want to have protection.
And, you guys get to see firsthand what the mighty #401 can do. I’ll be there in spirit, I guess, as I’m out of town, but Robert already has my car in his trailer.
Hopefully you guys won’t parts-swap me down to 125HP or anything underhanded like that!
I just read this whole thread and I don’t see an actually start time. Is it 9:00 a.m.? I am thinking about doing this and seeing just how underpowered my car is.
Yep, starts at 9:00. But no need to arrive earily as there will be a 4 car wait. Mosey in around 10:45 and we’ll keep things spaced out.

Thanks for putting this together. Good to finally meet IndyJim, Geiger, Damion, Greg M, Fred and various and sundry other characters. For the most part, the cars were grouped in the mid to high 150 range for hp and tq. I’ll let others post their exact numbers.
I was glad to see that my car is no overdog. I am in the hunt with 158 hp but my 152 tq is giving up about 8-10 to the top cars. I was happy to find 2 hp and 8 tq by swapping out different ECUs and AFMs. I’ll wait to see what the rules look like before I go any further on tuning, though.
Best $75 I’ve spent on racing so far!!!
