Back of the pack R888s

Anyone got a couple they are willing to part with. I have 2 that I got from SteveD that have a run or two on them. I’m not going to be running up front, so your throw aways will work great.

Let me know what you got.

I have two sets I’d be willing to sell ‘cheap.’ They are still decent, not just throwaways. I can take digital pics if interested. Each set has about 8 or so heat cycles and plenty of tread in case you want to use “all” of the race track

Craig -

If the price is right, I’ll buy them and give them to Moberg when I’m done with them. PM me with your price.

Greg -

I should have a few more take-offs for you at CMP.

not to hijack but in the same vein, if anyone wants to donate used PFC 01 pads, I would love to have them. As long as there is some material left, I’ll take them.

So, don’t throw them out next time. Save them for me.

#5

Craig give me a price for 4, But I think it is safe to say I’ll take them!!

I guess I can run my current RA1’s during comp school

#6

I also have a set (maybe 2) that I’d be willing to sell at or after the VIR feb. race. They have a lot of tread but they are old and hard :S.
Let me know if you’re interested and (preferably) if you can be at vir for the race.

edit: I also have a set of RA1s F/S with 2 heat cycles… even if one was 90 min :).

#7

If there’s folks that still have RA1’s, I’ll buy them off of you. I do a lot of non race events.

I have 4 sets of decent RA-1’s (one set 14’s)… If I can make it to visit you guys at CMP, I’ll bring them for you to look at.

#9

Okay so Craig sold his sets.

Damn Vultures I post the thread, and you steal the tires out from under me:angry: Just kidding

Anyone Else. I was hoping to get these for CMP. Help a rookie save some money!!

#10

Scott,
I will have 5 RA-1’s available at CMP, after I get the new R888’s mounted. They have a few weekends on them, but there’s plenty left.
Jon

Anyone?

Just a thought. I don’t know what folks are charing for used R888, but I just got a new unshaved set for pretty well under $600. I imagine if you’re paying $300 for a used set, getting a new one for less then twice as much may last you twice as long. Especially since we rookies don’t run them as hard as the “pros”.

Alex.

Where did you order from? I have been thinking of getting an unshaved set. since I can’t afford 2 sets right now.

Sasco (a SE sponsor) is a good source. See the NASA-SE site.

Sasco is kind of old-school. Give them a call and work it out on the phone. They can bring your tires to CMP and mount them there for you. But get your rims to them early. Lots of other folks will probably be trying to get tires early Sat morning.

Guys, It is easy to save a couple of bucks here and there, but I gotta chime in here and tell the rookies just how much it means to support the vendors that come to the track. There is no reason for them to support us at the track if we don’t buy from them. Buy what you need from track vendors!

I understand, and every part on my car was purchased from one of our supporting vendors. I have spent almost $3k in the last 2 months to get the car finished, and now I am just trying to save a buck. I have never run new tires, and was just hoping one of the front runners around here might have a set of take offs I could make good use of.

#19

You need to save a buck? I’ll give you a buck when I see you. Trust me, you aren’t saving anything to buy used tires. Tires learn the position they were mounted on with the previous car. Why do you think everyone marks their tires?

edit: seriously, you have too much invested in your car to risk wrecking it on someone elses worn out tires. Nothing drives better than a set of new tires.

I’m not going to argue with you. I will not be running in the front just planning on having fun while going at it with my fellow rookies. The benefit of new tires would be lost on me. I know for a fact I’m not the only one around here that would slap used tires on and go racing. Some of them might even finish ahead of you from time to timeB)

I guess that was an argument doh!!!
