August RA Smack Talk

#1

What’s up? Is SE changing for the better? I sure hope not… Looks like we got a good turn out, 13 people so far, with a couple of weeks still left before the event, including a couple of Comp School students!

No rookies claiming the early win?

Laura P., you got a second place, is there a win in the future?

Racer-X, no claim for the enduro? Although, I don’t see your name on the list. Are you coming?

Come on people, wake up!

I’ll be kickin’ it B Jones stylie at the Jersey shore, so I am out for RA (think hair product, flexing and whaddayoulookinat?!?).

Looks like a great group and a FIERCE battle for the 6th place trophies. When do we see photos of the next collectible yard art, Geegar?

My money is on Patton(s) on the plywood. If the car has a good maiden voyage, I’m sure Travis will have a good run.

No Crazy Dane? No IndyJim? No Gas “Enduros are REAL racing” Man?

I think Geegar is tied up at Lamaze classes that weekend.

Gee, racing like in the old days, noone shows up and Patton(s) have a chance of a finish in the top three.

Laura was 2/3 in June. I was bad AFM/6 and 2 in June. We’ll be there.

No. That messes up the Tan-In-A-Can.

B Jones stylie. Exhibit A:

I’ll be there, but since it’s only my second event this year I’m not making any promises.

Since Patton says noone is showing up (or was that Steve D) I guess I have some extra incentive be a somebody!

  • My 3 month old son will be attending his first race so I gotta have a good showing (so he can talk smack to the daycare kids)!!!

That wasn’t me. I remember how offensive it was a few months ago when Geegar explained his first big win by saying “nobody was there” even though I was there.

I am hoping I can be there to spectate on Sunday, so y’all please make lots of low percentage moves through 10a and 10b and put on a good show, OK?

Steve D.

#8

Speaking of Geegar… those low percentage moves through 10a/b are his specialty! Now, will he show up?

#9

Easy, guys. Mr. Noone didn’t look at the entry list, he only made the assumption the the list was two or three people long.

I don’t do trash talk very well.

No worries Robert! It’s all in good fun.

I hope that one day I can be like you and drive better than I talk smack on the Interwebz. Until then, I’ll be right here stirring the pot for races I’m not even attending.

I’ll be there…and I am converting my 2 4th place finishes in June to podiums this time. Bet on it.

#12

Planning on being there in an untested new car/motor. It smokes like Jlevie, but hopefully that’s just b/c it sat for a year or so. I still plan putting the smackdown on most of you. And you can bet on that M3Bill!

#13

Well now that someone is showing up I might have to show up too and get shown up, sure enough.

Will be a game time decision the enduro will probably happen too.

#14

I’ll be there, so honestly we can end this thread now unless you want to continue to smack talk about 2nd-20th;)

Steve, by the way big shout-out to Tim from OPM last weekend at VIR. My kill-switch was cutting out, couldn’t find one anywhere (CDOC was out too) and Tim went out of his way (while obviously very busy) and found one from another guy (didn’t get their name) and ‘sold’ it to me so he could settle up with the other guy. Nice of him to go out of his way. He was helping me even before I dropped your name!

Good thing you waited and didn’t do it earlier.

I fixed it for you, Chuck.

Yup - the OPM guys are good folks. There are a couple Tims who work trackside with OPM, but I think you may have been talking to Tom (Fowler), the head honcho.

I’m glad your weekend didn’t get screwed up by a kill switch problem!

Glad I got something started here!

Fear not, the rookies will be showing you all how to drive!

I spent several hours yesterday analyzing my RA data for '08, a couple weeks ago, and Skeen. I sucked in '08, but my '09 data shows that…I’m just awful, lol. But it was a big help in prioritizing my problems and giving clues as to how to fix them.

Skeen was able to come out of 10b crazy fast and by the time he hit 1 he was just flying. The speed he maintains thru 1 stands my hair on end. And he’s almost as fast thru 5.

#20

so what you’re saying is the car is fast, just not the driver.
