Can you suggest a reputable exhaust shop? The one I was going to go to is now telling me they can’t work on the car if it doesn’t have a cat. Worse comes to worst, I’ll do my own, but it would save me some time/hassle to have it done.

I have used Henry’s Muffler shop (832-7022) several times on Capitol Blvd. They are very fair and flexible on the work you want to do. Only down side is even if you have an appointment you can plan on waiting a little bit. Its a good idea to be there while they are doing the work so you can show them exactly what you want.
Carter has someone that he uses and has been very pleased with also. I think he is somewhere near Garner.

Bob’s Muffler on Junction Blvd. Just off Tryon Rd. near South Saunders.
They know us (Spec E30) and are very helpful.
